Can rich people game steemit by buying Steem Power?steemCreated with Sketch.

Say someone buys 1 million USD worth of steem power. They now have powerful votes.

At the same time they still have to write quality articles to get good upvotes from others. Still, they are now a whale which means they can promote. Good though, they're investing in the network which has benefits too.

Please share thoughts below, I will revise this post with a summary based on them.

Money is always behind any project, but in some of them is not dominant... UP!

You're right! And that's what I see as a good thing just generally speaking. The question is can it affect the quality of content on this site. I just made an edit to my original post to elaborate such.

Why is writing a requirement?
If you look at the post history of some of the whales you will see what I mean.
With enough 'power' money can be made just by voting on other peoples work. Which makes sense.

For every 'author' there needs to be many 'readers'

I just meant it doesn't make their writing any easier, quality posts are still quality posts. They would have great upvoting power to promote their posts though.

Agree but posts without readers are just text.
While the focus is on posts, I think a little more focus should be on the "audience" and the growth in that segment.
Not everyone is a "performer".
And without an audience the platform withers & dies.
