SteemReports - Enhanced Votes Network Graph

in steemit •  7 years ago  (edited)

There is now a second version of the tool which allow more accounts (up to 50) in the graph, and hovering highlights the relevant arrows.

Because these graphs are are quite time consuming for the server to create (taking up to a minute), the number of previous days covered has also been reduced from 14 to 7, for both this and the simpler graph tool. This actually seems more useful though I think.

I haven't yet added this tool to the website, as I want to see how the server copes before adding any extra traffic. I may need to upgrade the server in the next few days if it is used much.

Also, thanks to @transisto for alerting me to the problem with the graph window being too small in some cases, front-end design isn't really my forte! It should have improved now though.

Would be great to have a mix of either thinner line or lighter lines the same way the tip of the arrow is bigger to indicate larger vote power.

It can look quite a messy with this many nodes.

I think it's better now. I've changed the opacity of the graph edges. Also, when you click to select a node, it turns black and is easier to see. To visit an account page you now have to hold down shift.

If it doesn't work, at this moment, it's probably due to to an problem with the Steem API server(s), which is also affecting busy.org.

Nice

Thanks very much. Please let me know if you'd like other changes, graphs or reports.

This is random but as you dont have any posts I can currently vote on I wanted to show my appreciation for attempting to fight some of the reward pool rape from mindhunter. For your efforts you get my full 20 cent upvote :) Keep up the good work

Yes, the graphs are a bit cluttered. I wonder if the graph library I used will allow the opacity/transparency of the lines to be modified, that might help. I'll have a look soon.
