SteemReports - When Do You Get Your Vote Slider? The answer!

When Do You Get Your Vote Slider?
At the time of writing this, you need to have at least 484 Steem power (SP) (1,000,000 VESTS), before getting access to the vote slider on steemit. Then you can adjust the weight of your votes, and have more control over how you spend them.

If somebody delegates some SP to you, this counts towards your slider too. Your amount of delegated SP is shown in brackets beneath the main SP balance in your wallet.

How many people on Steemit can use the vote slider?
Currently only 6341 of more than 250,000 accounts have this privilege.

Third party service such as Steem Voter allow you to change the weight of the vote even with 30SP.

Thanks. I'm not familiar with it. Does it change the default for within steemit, or is it a totally separate interface like busy.org?

Great post @steemreports! Resteemed and will up vote when my power reaches 100% again ;) Feel free to follow me back you seem to add real value to the community!

Thanks for the support!

Not sure how it works, but when using Busy.org you also get a slider when voting from an account with less SP.

Any idea how this works?

Does Busy.org just interact with the blockchain differently and lets any account split their votes?

I would be curious to know!

I haven't actually used busy.org yet, but yes, that's exactly right. There's nothing preventing any front-end app (that you give your posting key to) from awarding a lower vote weight to a post or comment.

I seem to remember reading that restricting the slider was a decision in Steemit to prevent users with low SP, from using too much blockchain space and bandwidth with what they call 'dust' (very low votes that don't have any impact on payouts).

The API function a programmer would use asks for the vote weight between -100.0 and 100.0% - negatives for flags.

Thanks for the clarification!

That's what I thought, indeed.

working toward that rare piece of slider pie in the sky! haha, new follower, ty

Thanks for following. I think quite a few of these accounts are probably not used, or bots, but yeah, the slider's still a long way off for most people.

Thanks for this, teaches me a lot, need some patients and SP.

I was wondering this when I delegated SP. I wanted to give people access to the slider

Yeah, good idea. There are 300 accounts within just 15 SP of getting the slider.

Wonderful thing you do! I'm working on building my SP now debating selling some more coins to power up farther!

Excellent post. Amazing. Well done. I believe we will enjoy and have amazing time here to collaborate and learn for other members through writing
