I have no problem powering up bro! I am using steempeak.com to access my Steem account though, not Steemit.

          Check out the link I sent you. You can log in to peaked with your steem keys.
          A lot have happened the past couple of months on Steem bro and the community was split in 2 different blockchains, Hive and Steem.
