Screem is Decentralized Twitter Built on the Steem Blockchain - Steem Smart Podcast Ep. 4

in steemit •  8 years ago

We had a high-energy convo with the developer of Screem, a Twitter clone built on Steem.

Stephen Polsky ( @shneakysquirrel ) and George Donnelly ( @georgedonnelly ) demo’d Screem, a decentralized Twitter-like social network built on the Steem blockchain with its developer, Nate Brune ( @picokernel ).

This was a surprise episode as we grabbed the chance to find out about Screem from Nate. Thanks to @steemitqa for connecting us with him.

Awesome find. That is truly a great use of the Steem Blockchain.
It's good to see some initiatives like this one and I hope it will trigger more ideas.

Spaking abuot other ideas, please have a look to this STEEM+WIKIPEDIA idea:
https://steemit.com/steemit-hunt/@ntomaino/steemit-hunt-everipedia-wikipedia-and-reddit-had-a-baby
It's already looking pretty cool online. I am definitly curious about it.

It's following the same philosophy and also uses the Steemit engine to run a wikipedia place. The idea of being able to vote for articles is pretty brilliant for a wikipedia-type link

Can't wait to see more initiatives like these 2 !

Hopefully mobile based apps will kick-in very soon.

Regarding your blog: I love the new form factor. It's shorter. The demo and discussions are great.
You are doing a fantastic job guys.

Thanks @sebastien. Please keep the feedback coming. And I'm definitely going to check out @ntomaino's post.

This is such an exciting idea. Smeemit of the future is so much more than Steemit of today. Too many complainers are forgetting that the platform is still in friggin' BETA. "Let a thousand flowers bloom..."

This is so much bigger than just getting paid for content creation and curation. Amen.

A twitter biased version would be great. Can't bring myself to use this... just like reddit...

Super fun interview with Nate :) . We chatted for a bit off-air as well, and we definitely plan on getting him back on the show for later episodes as this thing develops.

Sweet! I hope he's able to pull it off.

Wow! In the middle of watching now... Just realized the developer is still in high school. You have earned my respect, sir. Please proceed with changing the world!

Impressive, right? Let's not grow his ego too much tho, eh? LOL @picokernel.

Haha thank you so much man. Means a lot.

I was thinking about a Twitter clone based on Steem yesterday and how successful it would be! I would be an early adopter!

Go check out the demo. See the show notes above for the link.

I'm glad you like the idea!

Very cool cant wait to try it.

SCREEM BABY! best project out there :)
And great show guys! Keep it up. I'm listener from here on out!
