I'd advise against using poloniex as your exchange to price it. As you can't withdraw thoses prices are not accurate. On bittrex price is dropping but lowest was around $1.05

Panick sellers are those that feel most sad later. If you panick for a small drop then don't invest and just use steemit. On the other hand all alt coins are dropping and 10% drop isn't that bad considering others :)

I'm also researching and talking to folks about crypto so i know what i can expect when i do invest. I do like steem though.
