I am not a robot (or at least I am one programmed to believe itself to be a human being). Thank you for this candid and informative post. I too am new to Steemit and wondered what measures are in place to discourage plagiarism, sensationalism and other clickbaity type behaviours. Is it only reactionary community moderation governing this then?

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
