"For in that He Himself has SUFFERED, BEING TEMPTED [tested], HE IS ABLE TO AID THOSE WHO ARE TEMPTED."
Hebrews 2:18 (NKJV)

• If you are struggling with any temptation; Jesus is the only one who can help you to overcome it.

  • He was tempted and suffered that He might aid those who are tempted.
  • However, you need to believe that He is, know that He is able to help you, and roll your burden to Him, before He can be of help: "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must BELIEVE THAT HE IS, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6).

"Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28 (NLT)

• Believers' journey on earth 🌎 should not be had alone, Jesus Christ has made a provision for help.

  1. "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another HELPER, that He may abide with you forever—
  2. "THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, FOR HE DWELLS WITH YOU AND WILL BE IN YOU."
  3. "I will not LEAVE you orphans; I will COME to you."
    John 14:16-18 (NKJV)
  • Jesus Christ our High Priest knows our feelings, He can sympathize with our weaknesses, thus we should come to Him to obtain mercy and find grace in a time of need (Hebrews 4:15,16).

• We are not to live independently of God, He wants to be involved in every aspect of our lives.

  • It is believed that humans are naturally moral beings, able to understand the difference between right and wrong; however, we need the help of God to live a successful Christian life because of the god of this world—the devil (2 Corinthians 4:4).
  • Jesus knew we would need a Helper in our journey on Earth, thus the need for the Holy Spirit.
  • If believers walk closely in fellowship with the Holy Spirit on the inside of them, there would be nothing to fear about-faces or the devil 😈 (John 14:16,17,26).

• Having said that, temptations come through desires. If you are being tempted on a particular thing, you need to check your thoughts and desires (James 1:13-15).

  • The devil will tempt you on what you strongly desire—what you crave for. THUS the reason for your desires to be in line with God's Word: "If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you" (John 15:7).
  • The devil came to tempt Jesus with what He needed at the moment after His fasting—he tempted Him with food.
  1. "And when He [Jesus] had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was HUNGRY.
  2. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command these stones become bread."
  3. But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the God."
    Matthew 4:2-4 (NKJV)
  • No need or desire of yours should be important than the Word of God.
  • Whatever the devil offered to give to you, contrary to the Word, should not be accepted, no matter how pressing the need in your life might be.
  • Whatever anyone offers to do for you, contrary to God's Word, pattern or way, should be rejected.
  • You might quite have a need, or you desire to have a thing; you must not be desperate about it to the point that you want to have it by all means.
  • Jesus was quite hungry at the time the devil came to Him, but He would not do anything contrary to the Word of God in order to meet His need.
HE answered the devil, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4).
  • If anyone offered to help you or meet your need in a way that is contrary to the Word of God, you should decline.
NO matter the desire, the enormity and urgency of the need or whatever, you should not do contrary to the Word of God.

"Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you."
1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)

• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
