The Squatters of Steemit

in steemit •  8 years ago  (edited)

Hi everyone, I recently joined Steemit, and this will be my first post, and I thought I should cover a topic that no one has covered yet. And that topic is the topic of "squatters" - a person who unlawfully occupies an uninhabited building or unused land. Now than except times are different we are talking about the squatters of Steemit or the squatters of the internet as a whole. How I would define these "squatters" is as so: "Squatters" - a person or bot who occupies an uninhabited name or username, of which did not originally belong to them or it. Such as someone taking, I don't know, Pewdiepie's name, or Markiplier's, or even Mojang's, now this is nothing new, but this is different when it comes to money, and it is also different when only one person can have that username. You see, any squatter could simply pose as the person or company they are squatting and if they were to do it right, they could gain money this way, or even blackmail someone. There's so many things a "squatter" could do, good or bad, but it doesn't truly matter what they do with the name, they beat anyone else to it. Any squatter could simply gain popularity from the name they won and could either gain money or just simply get flagged. Well if your reading this, and you haven't yet gotten a Steemit account(I doubt that), than you should rush to get your name.

What do you think we should do?
