Steemit is only competing with Reddit.
So this Post is indeed interesting :)!
You know...
Many People are talking about, that Steemit mighty beat Facebook, one day and that it might become the biggest Social Network ... etc.
I think that Steemit will never be able to compete with Facebook and alike - at least, as long as it Keeps this Blog- Like Infrastructure.
So yeah, Steemit will kick Reddit's ass - for sure :D.
But nothing more or am I wrong?

I like the fact that basic coding knowledge works in the user's favor here... It kind of weeds out the "zombies."

As pointed out retention is something that is going to tell the long term story. Things have to get more friendly to use if this is going to succeed.

Reddit is the new Digg. The admins are actively working to promote content that fits their political or social narrative and even changing the algorithm to bury content they don't like. Admins like u/spez are the reason every couple months there is another mass exodus of users to some other platform. I hope Steemit doesn't hire any former Reddit admins with the exception of Victoria Taylor who was a goddamn treasure to the community.

This is missing all information on the most vital statistic: retention. Sure, maybe the user doesn't bounce after just one page, but do they come back tomorrow? How about a week later? A month? I mean, I know these statistics might not really exist yet or be reliable because the site is so new. But retention is the most important statistic for long term viability, and that's not here.
