I think you have a point. It really sucks if you're banking on this as a money maker. It's better if you're not fully invested into it, just consider it as a side gig so it won't be too draining. Maybe you could do something else while keeping this on a background. For example, if you have something posted on the other sites, you could write like a 2 paragraphs 3 sentences each to introduce people to your other page. As long as you're not stealing other people's work, I think it's OK to reuse your stuff, just revamp/condense it a little bit for Steemit.
