CREATE YOUR OWN CONTENT – BE YOUR OWN GOD!

As I always say, Steemit is a huge Community. In fact, it's a world of its own – a virtual world – a virtual university of some sort. And like in real life, you will find that those who become known, successful, or influential are those who participate, who contribute, actively. Those who see nothing, hear nothing, do nothing, also end of being nothing. It is the same thing with Steemit. If you want to be something of a somebody here, you got to start hearing things, start seeing things, and start doing things. And what are you supposed to do? Write! Speak! Or do both! That’s all. The fact remains that, as in real life, those who succeed are those who make things happen, never those who watch them happen. You need to decide quickly, are you in life to be a mere spectator, or you’re alive to be an actor? The choice, of course, is yours.

Hey! That’s not all. It’s not enough to simply write or speak. As a friend of mine says, every fool with a pen can write, every idiot with a mouth can speak. But the world does not suffer fools lightly, neither does it let off stupid people easily. So, again, you got to watch what you say or what you write. In the race of life stamina is more important than speed. I’m not asking you to start running full throttle, I’m asking you to build up your energy!

It’s all about value. The Steemit Community is built on value. So whatever you do on the platform you must add value one way or the other. That is the only time you can be rewarded. If you try to cut corners you may succeed in the short run but in the long run you will fall flat on your face as every discerning mind will desert you. Remember, you can fool some people sometime, you can even fool all of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.

Tell me, what exactly is holding you back from generating content? You don’t know how to generate content? No, I don’t agree with you! If you think like that then you’re losing the battle in your mind, my friend. The greatest battle that we fight in life is the battle that’s constantly raging on in our minds. If you will be made or if you will be destroyed, it will be from your mind, from within you, not from without. So if you keep saying ’it is difficult’, ’it is impossible’, ’I don’t have time’, ’I don’t understand’, ’I don’t know’, that is how it will remain with you. But if you sincerely have the burning desire, coupled with activity on the Steemit platform, added with the ’yes! I-can-do’ spirit, it’s only a matter of time you’ll excel and shine like a star!

C’mon man, generating content is all pretty easy. Simply think of something you know which others or many people do not know. Then come on here and talk about it. If you can cook sumptuous meal, tell us about it in such a way that those who love food can learn how to make it and add it to their arsenal of cookery – so long as you do not end up poisoning people! If you can sing, by all means sing, even if it means croaking at first – you’ll get better! If you can make people laugh, by all mean make us laugh – the world is in need of so much laughter right now. If you can dance, record videos of your dances and let us enjoy watching – so long as you do not dance as one with two left legs! If you can inspire people, by all means do so here – the world sure can do with some inspiration! Whatever you do, just ensure you engage, engage and engage. Go look, go see, go do. Share your experiences in life so others can learn from them.

Having said all that, I’ll still advise that you should say nothing if you have nothing to say, for it is better to keep quiet and be considered a fool than to open your mouth and prove it. It’s just that it’d mean consigning yourself to the trashcan of spectatorship – it’s like going through life without life going through you.

So, what to do? Arise and shine! Shake off all the ‘I-can’t-do’ and ‘I-don’t-know-how’ syndrome! Take a closer look at the Steemit Community, follow people, navigate the platform, read posts, make comments, resteem, upvote. Participate! Participate! Participate! Be active - if you want to grow. The greatest secret behind steady growth in any community, whether online or in real life, is to be active. If you stay on the sideline to clap for those who are daily slugging it out on the pitch you cannot hope to share in the glory of their laurels. Go look, go see, go do, my friend.
