Sorry but I will no longer be accepting or following resteemers.
You know who you are...
I won't create a witch hunt list; let's just say if I look at your blog, and first 5 items are resteems, bye bye.
Not much more to say that that. I have to be able to read my feed and you are fucking up my shit...
The amount of resteems a day should be limited. 1 or 2 per person a day. It would force resteemians to choose carefully and thus we would get higher quality and more worthwhile content.

I feel the same... I tend to resteem once a week if the article is BEAST lol

Agree with you. I started 7 weeks ago and followed a lot of people. 2 weeks later I cleared the people I follow and started from scratch. The "feed" is valuable we should not pollute it.

Can you let us know how you decided to go about clearing your following list? What criteria did you use?

I opened the list and looked quickly over it. After a while, you know all the names and what you read.
I opened those (good) authors in a new browser window and cleaned the list completely. I added those opened windows authors again. Took me a few minutes.
Nice and tidy clean-up.

I feel similarly about this and posted about it recently. I think some people believe they can benefit from it in some way. If they do post then it's lost in the noise. It's not that hard to come up with a few original posts each week to keep your followers engaged.

I think looking at the architecture of steemit. resteeming compiles perfectly so to not throw anything off the "boat" I would encourage a user's blog page split in two where one half is for personal posts and the other is for resteems ..that or...a completely new added "resteems" tab next to blog and comments...oh yea comments...i was thinking about it the other day...comments and reply should also share the same tab... many things to do and that's why I am using steemnow.com more then before...i have eberything under my sight there and if i like something i just click on it and jump into it directly , just like i did coming to this post...now see you around...back to steemnow ...:))

Agreed. @ned
Steemnow needs a lot of work, and should be included in the Steemit UI eventually...

A lot of people want to see it split out. I also think re-steems should allow you to add something to say why you did so. A comment alone will not be very visible

I like this. Resteem with a lead in comment, like that other social media platform lets you do ...

I can understand where you are coming from. My feed also gets jammed up sometimes by people who just resteem. I think in general resteeming a post should only be done sparingly and if the post is of high quality.

I agree; once per day, per user.

Anyone who uses steemit for nothing but resteeming is wasting their time and missing out.
By far the most sucessful and enjoyable way to use steemit is to forget the money and interact with the community.
If you genuinely engage, the rewards will follow and it is just as enjoyable as any other social network.
Spam posts are a waste of everyones time including the spammer.

You could use my Steemit UI Tools (SCT) to filter them out, if you wish to ;) That is one reason, why I've developed it, while we are still in beta here. Here is my last post about the SCT:

It is a fine gesture to resteem others great content especially if the author is a Minnow. But I agree that the current Home feed setup is not ideal for resteems.
Steemit should implement a solution to this. Maybe another tab purely for resteems..

They are just looking to get a bite of the pie without doing any effort at all.
I believe that we should Resteem a post when we like it and want to share it with the rest of our followers not just to earn a quick buck.

I would say, from the feedback my post generated, and my considered opinion, 1 or 2 resteems per day, max, limited by the steemit UI, if nothing else.

I understand the frustration with too maṅy resteems. It is already very tough to keep in touch with the entire feed die to the enchanted number of posts these days. Continual resteems just clutter everything up. I personally like to resteem something if it really significant or someone needing some help from Steemit community needs to get more reach. Thanks for highlighting this important aspect of effective Steemit interaction. Should almost be considered a protocol.

So resteemers; correct me if I'm wrong; have no time to post, nothing to say, but still make some ducks by resteeming?
It never occurred to me that was a game plan.

@surfyogi dear absolutely right decision i supports you and with resteeming the blog looks very bad due to all sorts of posts mixing up.

Agreed on that. I think a ratio of 50-50 or even 40 OC-60 RS is still acceptable but people who resteem a lot I avoid them also.

I agree... every now and again it's fine to resteem something that fits your profile and what you typically post about. But there are definitely people that are out there resteeming for the sake of gaining followers. I follow the people that I do because of the content that they create... I don't want some shit post resteemed to my newsfeed because someone was trying to gain another follower or get a $.02 upvote because they commented "resteemed" on the post.

As a general rule, I will not follow anyone who resteems more than once for every 3 original posts, and no more than twice in their top five.
The occasional exception to this is a user who posts VERY HIGH QUALITY resteems that follow a specific topic I'm interested in.
