How Do You Promote/Present Steemit To People/Students/Youths, Living In Developing Nations In General?steemCreated with Sketch.

How do you present steemit to people living in developing nations in general?

Well, it really depends on the developing nations you have in mind. Yes, you may say that 'shortage of money' is a common factor in these nations and perhaps, presenting "steemit" as "a place to earn money", would appeal to the masses in every developing nation but hey there; "you can as well be wrong!"

Again, different developing nations have different strokes! I tell you, some developing nations are so laid back, "money" won't move them from their seats.

Some on the other hand, have had their hopes crushed a million times by the "boring internet" and the continuous internet promises, that they have had to deal with, before the advent of steemit, that presenting to them "another place to earn online", is not news and can even come off as bad, stale news.

Yes, there are nations,in which people have to go against so many odds, that to hope again is scary!

Another thing is, the expectations from the internet, of people in developing nations, is way different from the expectations of internet users in developed nations!

Many, in developed nations turn to the internet for a level-playing field. They do feel the need for an enabling environment, then they come online, only told "to scram off for being from a particular location"

Steemit came around and changes that!

The above is certainly one way to present steemit to people in developing nations and there are a ton of other ways, apart from the ability to earn.

No doubt, 'not everyone is on steemit to earn'. Some are here, simply to maintain privacy; to experience freedom; to create legacies; to test-run innovation ideas etc

Some internet users from developing nations, like me, came on here from day one, to keep my dreams alive in dream-bits and rehearse them till they hit fruition.

Yes, i got on here to create testimonies that will teach and fix lives. I want to poke the globe from the outskirts, with positive, really happy vibes and steemit and steem technology made "dreams more equal to reality" in that regard. I spotted this from day one!

Yes, i am from a developing nation; i don't have a dime; away from any family support; filled with depression and  24/7 physical pain but i got on here and i wasn't phased by the possibility to earn, instead, i saw spot on, a way to reshape the internet; fill it with more love and create a haven upon which generations yet unborn will perch and get a fixing. I found a way to infuse beautiful "me" into our very boring internet without restrictions related to locations or IPs

I was an entire tired being when i got on steemit and i still am but i saw big things, more visions and dreams when i got on steemit and bliss came along.

What I'm Saying?

It isn't exactly SBDs or steem that developing nations need, it is steem itself and the people in it, that they need!

So if i found someone in the Philippines on his daily Yossi and i also find out that he desires so badly, to de-yossify himself but doesn't know how to; i can bring "steemit" in the picture and say:

You know what, join us on steemit and let's have you stop smoking!

Or to a janitor, who feels bad about his job; i can remind him that it is the substance of the man that matters and he is just in a circumstance, Then i say: "let's add some vision to your game and give you an edge by bring you on steemit" and before you know it, he is no longer a regular janitor!

I did #steemgigs to teach this! To direct steemians from day one, into vision creation and dream-building! I want these new ones, especially steemians in developing nations to open their eyes, from day one!

You aren't victims, so don't present yourselves a victims.  A developing nation, even if considered an odd, is simply a circumstance and not "YOU" and "YOU", even tired "YOU" can shine anywhere and "steemit" helps matters; SO SHINE!

If Bill Gates made Microsoft in a developed nation, i make MacroHard here!

For this post, i will tackle youths, especially those still in school.

How do you present steemit to these ones?

Youths are still in a state of finding themselves. Many who found themselves in the limelight, like Justin Bieber, etc, were simply doing what regular youths do; "finding themselves", when the internet took notice of them.

They were just doing what youths do, till fame and money struck at them and they played along. In special cases, though some youths may find themselves out, very early and may create an empire, from day one. Even then, amazing parents, will still want to keep these ones in school.

Basically, in life, "there is pacing!" Perhaps, its best to say, "there is time for everything"; like the Bible says!

Even if you are the best genius in life, life itself, will teach you that there is time for everything!

In presenting steemit to school, i would go the same routes:

Join us on steemit:

  • To find yourself
  • To define and redefine yourself
  • To practice your education
  • To hone your art
  • To teach and learn as you teach
  • To meet like-minds
  • To draw inspiration, motivation, fire
  • To find new knowledge
  • To practice your assignments
  • To prepare for your exams
  • To do some extracurricular
  • To stay busy
  • To do some #steemgigs and win extra bucks for books and pencils
  • To become a better version of yourself
  • To know how to interact
  • To experience real life, ups and downs and learn how to maintain calm in the odds life poses
  • To "not let a day emptily slip" by, "without reading or writing".
  • To stand out among your peers
  • etc..

I will pause here!

Finally, i will tell them; "if you came around on steemit to enjoy the perks above, then i'mma spoil you with some SBDs from my own wallet and you have my word".

I believe in youths so much! I love to see them shine!

Let your vigor show. That's what time it is!

I tell you, if you let your vigor show; grow and impress yourself; exert your brain positively; build vision and dreams; become the very best version of yourself, taking advantage too, of steemit reputation paradigm; a community of great minds as your mirrors; then steem and money will look for you, not the other way around!

The other way around is "old school!"

Let's Ride!

Your Boy Terry

Thank for everything that you are doing to our community, I told before I am willing to give everything and even the bit of energy I have to support you.

I won't be saying much and you know why.
I know you will be here with us. We look up to you, just keep going!

Not every one see the pain that the world is carrying!

I am here with you in this. I know I don't have much but I am willing to spare some, we are all selfish in our own little way but we are humans, let's make the most out of it. I know you are strong, keep going!

We can't help the whole world but we can help some people who knows people.

You know noticed I am redundant with my phrase "keep going" because I want us all to keep living! Let share this this amazing opportunity to others!

Happy steemiting

Swits. Thanks! My "thanks" is weighty!

I should be the one to thank you for putting up with me stubbornness. 😉

I am the stubborn one, you are the kulit one

Terry Boy, this was an epic post which I shared everywhere! I am so happy for you as I think you're a born leader, and your heart is made of gold! This was an amazing post. Well done.

Thank you alot. Just the "Terry boy" part fix my current heart a bit. It felt like breakthrough. Thank you for everything!

This post was more focused, so I really think you're getting good at ordering your ideas. Good job.

Hahaha and you have talent and human, this "developing nations" topic, without being in these places!

well, i was really poor a few years back, so I know how poverty can really mess with one's head!

Yes, except you are too lazy to quit, it can tame a person. Every normal new suddenly becomes enormous good news. No hugs and even pillows (to hug). "No chains but you are tied". If you have love in you, this is torture

Plenty of poor folks here.....my city has a long history of racism, dividing white and black.

Yes but it still takes love, empathy and even talent. You have those things

We all know that Filipino people had gone a lot on the internet, some are aleady tried to venture quick rich scheme and they get scammed. Instead of gain some to help their financial needs, they lost everything. They also put themeselve away from internet business who promiss to earn money in a small amount, they also a victim of this internet ponzi. Now they immune and become more skeptical, they want proof now before they believe. They could not afford to be scam again and play with the ponzi the second time. Therefore, to make them signup and help them to get back from their lost, present steemit as a free platform, and more important explain the link you have gave them that this is not a referral link. I earn nothing if you join, I only want you to become a part of the system I trusted the most. That is why I promote it myself without hesitation. While student need some plenty of snack and giveaway as a proof your making some out of it.

Thank you for your honest opinion.

Happy steeming!

Steem On!

You understand it very well! Awesome!

Thank you! @surpassinggoogle

Lovely post, at first i joined steemit because of its benefits and being a victim of the economy downfall of my country , i decided to sought means of making a living, i made drastic decisions that didnt only worsen my case but made me go into depression, thank God i came out of it victorious, i was always wallowing in self pity that , i couldn't differentiate between the Good things that i would benefit from, one day a friend told me about steemit, my first three posts werent encouraging i thought maybe i wont make this money, at the long run i began having intelligent discourse with people in steemit, even you @surpassinggoogle , you made me realise one has to be selfless in what you're doing, be 'you' so that people will be attracted to you ie your content. Now i have removed the notion and thoughts of having to make the 'quick cash' but to help others in bettering theirselves in this journey, i can beat my chest , i am proud to be here and to help people know more about steemit and things you can achieve from it apart from the monetry aspect. There is a whole lot to learn from here... Thank You so much, i hope you're getting better?

You are awesome. I can't say i feel better really and that is the truth but i am alive. Stay awesome. I will buy out time for us to talk soon. Some words in my last post applies to you

Will check the last post out... I need you to be positive and can't wait for the talk.

Okay

You are such a trooper man! Always trying use your brains and hard work to get somewhere in life.

You bring up a lot of excellent points. So many seem to try and convince people to join Steemit because they could make money. Such a way of thinking often overshadows the beauty and wonderfulness of things places like these have to offer.

I’m mostly here jus to work on my reading and writing skills. Most importantly how fast I read and write. Kind of an odd reason to be in a place like this but its true people are here for all kinds of things!

Always so many interesting things to read, learn, and write about I think some people miss out on the real gold here. Not to mention all the different people I get to meet and interacting with on a daily basses from around the world.

Yes. You have said everything correctly. I wish you the best of moments!

On the path already. Like my mentor always says;

"don't look at yourself as a redfish or minnow, look at yourself as a Whale and start taking responsibilities".

yeah, that's correct.

@stellabelle, I have heard a lot about you since the moment I knew @maryfavour on steemit. She talks how great you are and how fantastic your posts have always been. I am a big fan even if I don't visit your blog more often. Maybe that was when I was still seeing myself as a REDFISH. I was thinking that I have got nothing to offer you, either voting wise or adding to your sp. But now, I have realized that I have more than enough to add to you and that makes me a Whale. I couldn't beat my reason in life as a Bodybuilder and a Comedian, so I decided to bring my talents down here to steemit. To be sincere, I have always wished I act someday.

Sweet! Will visit you soon. I am still down currently

I will be waiting.

This is on point! Steemit as "another place to earn online" would be a very bad introduction. I remember when @steemitph told me about this platform. I was listening intently as he told me about the material he found here but when he dropped the words "earn" "money" "cryptowhut???", I got turned off. It's not that I don't need money or I don't want to earn but things like "earn just by doing this or that" just doesn't sound right. I'm glad he urged me to see it for myself. I've been wondering how I should introduce Steemit to my family without making it sound like easy money (because it isn't) and here you are with your list. So once again, thank you!

Beautiful comment. For family, i would say, keeping growing and they will ask to join in. Family sometimes are the hardest to convince. So just keep growing and shine, not only monetarily but in your substance, edge, behavior and they will be impacted to join

I visited here from an uplifting comment you sent me earlier & reading this post... i can see a very encouraging message!!!... I see a great community here with huge potential.. I have come across many different post genres here, u could say with an array of different talents and skills to bring to steemit. Some of the nicest payouts I have seen are from one steemian helping out another in need.
But even at basic level... writing and being creative has got to be good for our own wellbeing :)
it has helped me a lot .. for years I have put at the back of my mind the idea I will write again. Now steemit has made that reality!
Worldwide we the human race have so much to offer. There is a world of possibilities there for us to help fellow brothers and sisters when before we never had the means :)
Better in the hands that need it rather than i.e Zucherberg who lets be honest here, far from needs any more earnings.

Special comment. You just upbuilt me back! You awesome! Yes, now you can write again!

You are good person and deserving if your success !!! :]

Wow. Really powerful article you wrote. You're ideas about how to present Steemit to others are also applicable to people who are not in developing countries.

I personally have learned so much on Steemit, and I still have more to learn! The people here are wonderful, and their ideas are brilliant.

I have friends in the Philipines that I have mentioned Steemit too, but I don't think they have joined yet. I'll probably send over this article to them, I bet it would really give them perspective!

Thanks for the share. Again great job!

Yes, please send it to them. I will write another one later today, that i will give out as a departing gift after i speak to youths about steemit in two events over the weekend! Yes, it does apply to everyone regardless of location but this one was talking to some with an underlying message to everyone. But you grasped my points. Thank you for reading and for reading between the lines. You are awesome!

hehe. I already passed along your first article. aww of course! Thanks for reaching out the the local community where you live! :)

Hi - I've taught global development (16-19, UK) for 15 years now and this question of the extent to which Steemit might provide opportunities for young people in developing countries is very interesting. As you say, it does depend on the country you're talking about, but one possible reason why Steemit might provide more opportunities for those in developing countries is that revenue generated for content isn't based on the value of adverts which in turn is based on the relative purchasing power of the creator. Instead, people decide the value, thus your content's being judged purely on its value to the reader. All other things being equal, this means the lower the PPP (purchasing power parity) in the country in which your based, the more your getting paid! (I think).

Possible barriers to the 'Steemit strategy' working as an effective income source for people in developing nations (please keep in mind that I'm not stereotyping here, I know things are complex!) include (1) the English language barrier - OK it also applies to a lot developed nations too, but it's still a barrier, (2) having the time to post -longer working hours/ more family commitments in poorer countries mean people have less time to post, and finally (3) having access to quality education and information which improves content - more people go to Uni in developed nations, possibly meaning their content will be more informed.

So I do believe peer-peer social media platforms provide more opportunities for developing nations, but (like pretty much everything else) people in developed nations are still better positioned to exploit these opportunities.

It's a very interesting topic, I'm gonna dig around for some research on it! P.S. I know Steemit isn't just about making $$$$ - that's just the direction I wanted to take my comment. Obviously Steemit's very useful for students to express themselves and learn new skills!

Yes. You points are special and your expertise shows. All you have said is correct and i understand that you are not stereo-typing. Exactly, what i am saying in this post, developing countries are in a better position to exploit the beauty steemit but they do need eye-openers like this post and your special comment here. Sometimes, the developing nations deaden people and except you are strong and stubborn, you start to see yourself as a victim and present yourself as one and lose out on beauty, foresight and vision. Currently, i am helping with growth of steemit in the Philippines and apart from the underlying message in this post for everyone, this post was targeting to inspire and sorta wake up or serve as mirror to the community we are growing. #steemgigs is also targeted to accomplish this cause among other things. If you read through the other comments, you will notice that this post has helped as an eye-opening and i am hoping your beautiful comment here will help further!

Hi thanks for the swift response, I'll have a look through other comments for sure. Just on the notion of 'victimhood' in developing countries I'm more inclined to think that growing up in poverty actually tends to more resilience and creativity - there's been a lot of extremely good documentaries on the BBC and C4 outlining this in recent years. Here in the west, where kids have got everything (and thus everything to lose!) there is a lot of anomie and passivity. Good to discuss!

Yes, it does and that happened in my case but it takes sheer stubbornness; "too lazy to quit". Not many go this route. Again it depends on the nation and in many cases the genes. Some developing nations, do embrace suffering and become laid back, less becomes normal. This is a special topic. In general for me, it has nothing to do with nation. The substance of the human transcends all that. There are special people from any nation and in every case, there has been conscious effort to allow your human loving aspect to reign.

If there's somebody more thankful of this post, that should be me. This turned my insight about Steemit, and how it is promoted. I usually promote this platform as A place to earn online, and a place to hone your skills, I am so much thankful for this post. Thank you @surpassinggoogle! I learned a lot from this post :)

I am glad! When i talk sometimes to you. i fear it may be misunderstood etc overall though, it is this. You are a star and you should know that but you get to know that overtime, as you come fully to terms with who you are and that takes years and conscious strenous effort. Yes, steemit is a place to earn as well but that is a constant: you will definitely earn something if you join and use steemit even if you don't post, what's not constant is the world and how it evolves and if humans don't evolve, they will simply be left behind and you will be before same human as you and feel you aren't star. "While people were going to the moon, we were eating rice". That isn't the legacy we want to leave behind and now steemit is here, it got easier. Our parents, had nothing, not even internet and many of them left the province or so "to do something". Let me pause a bit. Read on the comments on this post by revisesociology

We live in time of big changes and understanding , that bank account is not the most important thing in life, becouse only creativitnes of something from inside us can give expression of essence in life .
We understanding what only let out consciousness grow is possible get biggest meaning of everything. Here is intresting information about it:

Steemit platform giving lots of variations to leave some meanings from peoples life and if each of human beings are the peace of part a same consciousness giving realyze as for overall growing can get prosses in sence.

Awesome

I've experienced most of the perks in Steemit... :) In my first few days here, I've found a lot of like-minded people who later became my friends. They're both from the Philippines and other places in the world. It's really great to give something to this community, because you can also receive a lot! You receive friends, experiences, knowledge, happiness from being with like-minded people. I always consider the earnings as a bonus! That way, I can enjoy the platform even more. :)

I've been here for more than a month now, and my sleeping passion for arts and poetry has awakened. Thanks to very supportive steemians.. :) It's definitely a place to be.. It's like a world full of various communities. Communities from different fields but are connected in a way. :)

Thanks a lot for supporting a lot of steemians, sir Terry ( @surpassinggoogle), especially the Filipino community. May what you've given come back to you a million folds. (^_^)v

Pretty one, i have spotted on your awesomeness and it just showed afresh in this comment. Keep on growing.

Thank you so much... :) Will definitely do my best to grow in this community and help others grow as well. ^^ After all, this is the kind of community steemit is. Helping each other grow. (^_^) Thanks again, sir! (^^,)>

The above is certainly one way to present steemit to people in developing nations and there are a ton of other ways, apart from the ability to earn.

You are right Terry. Taking Nigeria as a case study, It would be better you tell a Nigerian youth to join Steemit to help build the world image of Nigeria from that of a Scam Nation (land of the African Princes) to a Nation that flows with creativity. God bless the brain behind this write-up. PEACE!

Make sense. Will be talking to a ton of geeky youths from Nigeria on the weekend. It will be a google hangout. Nigeria is a different developing nation. For Nigeria, you need to be empowering, fill the room, and "let's go and surpass Google. The shirt will be launched there first surprisingly in a few days.

Yes, you know the Naija people well. I am on a project that would use the reach of the Internet to get more Nigerians on Steemit. Presently there are over 90 million Nigerians that access the Internet every month.

That is huge; and it means we can get as many as we want online. I want to put my Internet marketing skill behind the project to help Steemit reach more people.

This line "Yes, i got on here to create testimonies that will teach and fix lives. I want to poke the globe from the outskirts, with positive, really happy vibes and steemit and steem technology made "dreams more equal to reality" in that regard. I spotted this from day one!" fascinates me the most and motivates me as well...

you pointed out correctly what is the approch to steemit for a steemian from developed and developing countries.....

But in my own understanding steemit is versatile and accommodates each section of different speheres...so people joining here will find their own way of steemiting...

thank you so much @surpassinggoogle ....steem on & stay blissful...

Agreed. Steemit does have a way of channeling its audience into "mining with minds"

Hmm...,@surpassinggoogle, what an insightful post! I remember telling a fellow Steemian that if I was just in steemit for the money only, I would have left in my first month, which was a trying period for me. However, like you stated in your post I'm also here to create legacies and test-run innovative ideas. Trust me. My head is bursting with ideas. I have 1001 of them to test-run here. What makes me happy is that the blockchain is open source and so it's truth. My record on https://steemitboard.com/board.html?user=maryfavour shows that I've only earned 887.311SP after 5 months in Steemit. So, I have invested more time, money and talents than what I've got back financially. The legacy, opportunity to test-run innovative ideas, freedom etc are much more valuable to me than just money. Hopefully, folks will understand this and promote steemit in a better way. Thank you so much for the legacy that you are creating with @steemgigs. A lot of students will benefit from #steemgigs at least to help them buy books and pencils like you rightly highlighted. When I first met @steve1122, he was really struggling in steemit and feeling somewhat frustrated. I quickly identified his talents and told him to consider putting them to good use in @steemgigs. Today he is not doing badly in @steemgigs, designing logos. Moreover, I told @bat-junior to use his talents of writing in #Arabic to help someone out there. He is doing well in his Tuesday fitness tips class, Saturday fitness show and Sunday comedy show. I am very proud of both of them, my mentees. Believe it or not, the post I wrote yesterday in steemgigs - My first gig, I will help Serbs communicate better in English, was written based on my calculation that I might not have as much time to spend on steemit when the summer break ends in mid-September. #Steemgigs is going to be my new way of marketing steemit to students. I believe they will like it, because everyone has something to offer. Thanks a lot once again!!!

Yes, there is a ton of them. Newbies currently, don't know that they are on steemit in the best times, even earning wise. And the redfish thing, you may not know it but you are leader in that niche. As many initiatives as there are, most tackle minnows. So hold on to it and all the talents are here and i know them. When you to build a functional discord with everything, something like pal does, you will be stand out. Most people like to jump steps though but if you vision is solid, then what's the rush. That's your path and when it is all set, it will be staunch and people will feel this impact. it is more testimonial when the substance of your human can impact people, even moreso than steem power. but steem power is so essential as people want to look up to something, so built it on

Hahaha, "everyone has something to offer". I so love that simple slogan. And you know i speak to those two guys and will help them down the road. The "vote for steemgigs" logo beneath my post was done by steev for free. So by means of #steemgigs, they also adopt the culture of giving etc

I love your words of encouragement. Truly, everything is possible with God. And i praise Him for making this wonderful platform to inspire each other; distance, culture, nationality, socio-economic status is not a hindrance.

Always be a blessing to everyone bro Terry. You have my unceasing support. :)

Awesomeness!

A great way to inspire others, resteeming good post from a mentor will make my blog beautiful, will you agree?

And what I do to spread steemit? i always share my steemit post to my fabook, tweeter, linked, etc
It does work!

It does work. Thank you for your awesomeness!

I am part of the steemiteducation team and I want to thank you for your support, but most of all, I want to applaud you for steering the youth into this direction. Steemit is not just about making money and people should see the bigger picture. I wish you success @surpassinggoogle
@giantbear look here!

I love this comment. Exactly what i am trying to do. Glad you spotted that. Great that you are part of @steemiteducation as well. There is time for everything and a time to be youth and youth involves a state of evolving

Great minds think alike ;)

Since kids these days are really proactive about their finances and are active on social media, I'm sure they'll appreciate a social media platform that gives them a return value for the time they spend. That's the big draw of Steemit for them, I think.

Yes but some kids aren't ready yet. Look at what you do with your blogs, then look at #philippines and you will see how you stand out. The underlying message in my post is same as yours "return value for the time they spend".

That's so nice of you to say, man. But, I don't think the quality really matters, even though we hope it would. I've seen a lot of posts that are arguably of lesser quality (formatting, grammar, content) than mine but still make considerably more. While we hope to encourage great quality posts, I guess it'll improve over time. We just need to get people in the door.

Yes, there are other factors and behind the scenes. Value is also created behind the scenes and loads of it. Like you said, we just need to get people in the door.

Great post and very well written. You sound really sincere.

Im trying to get (young) people from Villaba(visaya) on Steemit. But the connection there is so bad. But also there will be proper internet one day.

Also i tried to vote for you as a witness but im a noob with this and have to check it again. But you got my vote upcomming kuya :)

Peace

Okay, thank you alot about the witness thing. You did it right. Thank you alot. I didn't know your are in the Philippines as well. I wish you good internet soon

My pleasure.

pasensya , maybe I said it unclear, I dont live there (yet:) im chatting a lot with a women from the Philippines. She works in Manilla and her family lives in Villaba.

So im trying to convince her family to get on Steemit.

Goodluck there

Yes, i noticed that! Great! All good! I get now!

A great post :) I think it is the mindset of people joining Steemit that makes Steemit. It's like a new place for the creative minds to come together. The crypto nerds, future thinkers, artists, writers, and so much more! For me the first thought into joining Steemit was to express myself and meet like-minded people. In the few months being here things have changed a bit, while I learned, expressed and observed. Anyways, what I am trying to say is that besides the money, Steemit is a great way for self-development.

Beautiful comment. Everything you have said is on point. Soon, i will be talking of my own steemit testimonies. I had a mindset similar to yours and it makes you see things better and i tell you, so many opportunites on steemit cos when people you make true connections with find new opportunities, they take you along. Plus, the developmental aspect, i peer into crypto, coding plus i got the "steemgigs" witness, even though i started with no technical knowledge!

If we show them what we earned so far then they would get encouraged to join steemit

We can also show them that there are people in here that we can connect with and have friends with. People that are true and ready to help, taking actions and has a heart o even care for strangers that are in need and in a lot of different situations in life, it could encourage them if they are looking for a good community.

Yes, this works as well. I just tried to pull up the not very obvious ways.

Yes I agree because it is very hard for minnows to level up but there some ways to have a future in steemit because this is an extraordinary community where there are real people who cares and have a time to listen.

good and great writeup. I have been preaching steemit to some couple of people that have potentials, but they just seems not to care. I have used different explanation methods, but the lethargic feeling is something I dont understand. These people are in the late 20s to early 30s, also they live in advanced developing nation. I will stick around for your next strategy.

Amazing! For people in developed nations, this can work too but it requires a bit more work! I will write that one up soon. I wrote something to that effect in the past, i wonder if i can find it.

Pls kindly write it with consideration about people who are bilingual but whose first language is not English although they speak English, at thesame time who care much about Facebook. I will surely use the suggestions you may supply and give you feedback on the africachat on steemit.chat. thanks @surpassinggoggle

Yes, my posts can be translated if required by anyone. I try to keep my posts as simple as possible! Kosi wahala

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Olúwa oo. This beats my imagination. I never thought you are Nigerian, less someone that understands Yorùbá. This is encouraging. I'mma gonna stay on steemit till....I wrote some of my post a couple of days ago in Yorùbá. I just saw you are the steemgigs witness. Mo o maa lo dìbò fun yin laipe yi. Inú mi dun púpò. @surpassinggoogle

I just gave out life lesson. It didn't have much to do with nationality but it is a top steemit lesson, that will help you. It is always beyond stats. I see you as whale and you should see yourself alike. If you dibo fun mi, i would value it!

Yeah, I appreciate it. Steemit is a community relating the global village together. Its beyond nationality or ethnicity. The "kosi wahala" you wrote was impressive to me. I am in the whale-ing process. Lol. I have dibo for you. I gladly did.

Thank you! Talk soon

I have never red a blog like this before.. In this time of so much pain and trouble and to much poverty, your information is very helpful, in a way how you want to people should be helping each other.. thanks for this information @surpassinggoogle

This is indeed a great post. I have learnt so much from this article that I can literally implement in my Steemit promotional campaigns. I felt I was doing something wrong by just only talking about the earning aspect of Steemit to those who have joined Steemit. This came back to bite me by most of them loosing interest in the program as its very much difficult to earn even a dollar as a minnow. I think I will be better of by using some of you notes in my next ad campaign. Thanks for writing this article

Yes, i see your efforts. I know of them and yes this will work. If you have an event, i can talk using google hangout or skype, some powerful talk. I will be talking on behalf of people in Africa on the 25 th using this method, though i am not physically present. Look at my last post as well. I have shirt print, i send them some money to print out some. You can use the prints as well. One thing that is essential too is pacing. You have to learn yourself, be a full grown steemian to be more effective in promoting steemit. This will make you more impactful and when you talk, they will listen, money or no money. Drive is essential too, which is something i have seen you display.

I liked your post. But I disagree. At this point Steemit is in a beta stage. At this point the witnesses should focus on developing the community and shaping and curating relevant content so that Steemit community does not get diluted and go the Facebook route.

I write about it in my post here: https://steemit.com/steemit/@stanthesteemer/why-steemit-is-the-future-of-social-media

Once the community is shaped, then the people in the developing nations can be targeted and give them an alternate source of revenue.

I don't disagree either. I do curation and teach it. This post is simply shaped to speak to a specific audience who are carry out steemit growth, to giving additional suggestion but with an underlying message for steemians in general regarding additional ways to look at steemit. I understand you. However, there is valid reason for this post

nice post @surpassinggoogle but about this three point
To become a better version of yourself
To know how to interact
To experience real life, ups and downs and learn how to maintain calm
how could you convince someone with that and as we know ....all the doctors and specialist they say keep away of the internet it will rewind your life

Thank you for picking out some things

i have just said what is in my mind ;)

It is very possible to share the same thoughts!

Thank you for sharing your wisdom!

Because we have different visions, as for me I respect everyone's opinion in all matters

this is the spirit thnx

Thank you human being! Following you now!

Let's spread good vibes!
Happy steeming!
♥️

Wow! With that kind of instant upvote power, I would be thrilled to be here too...

I liked most of the second half of your post, specifically where you discuss how to present Steemit in schools to the youth!

One-time votes and enticing anyone to join Steemit with money as the primary incentive will not be a sustainable business model. In order to have continuous and sustainable growth,

  • We need to have people join #steemit who are willing to contribute to the community by interacting with other members (especially new members).
  • We need to have people who are creating original and interesting content, more than "How to make $$ on Steemit".
  • We need people who care about the platform and actually read the Steem White Paper (or at minimum, the FAQ Page).
  • We need people who are going to support others selflessly (Donating from your wallet is a very nice gesture. I'm afraid it may send the wrong message in some cases though).

Interesting ideas!

Yes! Great points. And an upvote like that, gives you are ton of responsibilities. These things aren't said though, cos the major measure of value is on the blog post. So i am glad you looked past that. This post was majorly to talk to an audience of people, who are currently growing steemit by inviting people from colleges and it is out to teach them new ways to go about it. The right kind of audience is essential like you mentioned. In the long term, steemit has a way of directing people into loving it!

steemit has a way of directing people into loving it!

I completely agree! As long as we start off with the message where Steemit is a fun and exciting new way to imagine a social network, and provide all of the interesting concepts aside from money as the first pitch, ending with the potential to earn money, I think the user base will grow much faster and stay active for longer!

I believe The money side should be considered more of an "investment" as opposed to how someone might be paying their Day-to-day bills. "Steemit, the next big crypto currency where you can invest in your future by investing in yourself, and making friends along the way!"

Great post

You seem to write very short comments to various posts, then provide yourself with a self-upvote. Your upvote percentage is over 50%, which means that you do share some rewards with others, but overall, your interaction on Steemit is limited to simply voting on your own content.

Looking at your wallet, you seem to "re-invest" all of your steem into voting bots to augment your post values.

Why do you bother spending so much time voting on yourself for such small rewards?

Sweet. This covers it. Real thanks!

Good idea, reliable!
I also told them concerned SteeMit with money, but there also they did not respond at all. But I tell them, than they are not profitable online they use this SteeMit, the system is similar to other social media.
They heard and many tried it.
Thank you @surpassinggoogle have shared.

Nice way to improvise and try new methods

Yes, i think it's a nice method or step, i hope all is safely under control. :-)

Yes, different strokes for different scenarios

Different paths for one same direction (SteeMit) :-)

The points clearly stated here looks strange to many people especially those that the 'old school' is the reason being on Steemit. Some how i got your point on 'different strokes for different folks'. There should be different methods for bringing or introducing people to steemit (away from 'come and make steem').

This will open the eyes of many who will read this piece to channel their energy to more productive things or another way of doing things and see the steem aspect as secondary.

Thanks for this @surpassinggoogle

great job @surpassinggoogle Nice poste

This is such a great site to be able to express your own feelings and views, as well as meet other like minded people from all over the world.

Look for other steemians from Sri Lanka and form a community however small and work together to grow steempower and do things together. If you don't know other steemians, you can share posts like mine or yours to facebook and spark up interest and when there is interest, i can come in to help with speeding them up. Also get on the discord and audio channels on there and talk, let people get to know of your desires and intention

Thank you so much @surpassinggoogle sir...for your kindness help....your advice is very useful to me...and I hope your help and valuble advice in my steemit future...
I already connect with my local steemians....and always share with my friends my and yours posts...
I promise you...one day I'm success in this platform...thanks again sir...
Cheers~~

You are welcome!

Mmm how you would go about it? Developing nations generaly don't have the accomodations for internet and or steemit. I would not know why you would go about lets say soudan and tell them about steemit?

The first thing your should do is get people from these countries into schools so they know how to develop there country and then talk about internet and steem.

I don't get why people wanne talk about steem in developing countries where people don't even have enough to eat.

Well because people do have things to eat. Sometimes it is painted extremely hard but there are places with food in these nations. If nations don't have internet and school, that will happen soon and blockchain helps matters

True that you cannot just invite or convince someone by saying they will earn here, they will usually ask for proofs and will see if you are successful yourself. :)

Yes, and when they don't earn each day, they will tire out and stop! Don't worry, you will be successful soon. Keep growing in your journey

@surpassinggoogle,
That would be a very useful article and whatever you said is, absolutely correct! I know this, coz I am from Sri Lanka, a developing nation so far!
Really appreciate your effort and thanks for sharing!

Cheers~

Oh Sri Lanka, i think you are the first steemian i have seen from Sri Lanka. Are there many steemians already from there?

I just started Steam It.
This is useful information for me.

I am so glad about that. If you have questions, leave a comment and i will help you with directions.

I love the second half of your post. In presenting steemit to school. Encouraged students to join in steemit, to introduced their self, to meet new friends, and to create original and interesting content. This might be helpful for them to know and learn more about steemit..

Beautiful!

This post just made my morning so good- a really good read. Thanks! @surpassinggoogle 😃

Beautiful! I also had you and jasse in mind, when i wrote this!

Absolutely right @surpassinggoogle ,its very nice article to learn of.

Thank you. I will be trying this with a ton of youths over the weekend. I have really been able to inspire and empower many youths growing up and i will keep doing so, because i believe power lies in them but someone may need to tell them this or remind them

Yes indeed, like mine before when i told them about this community, they are in twosided mind.they think its scam,or hack..after i explain them everything and show some proof. They get interested..its hard for me to till them all about this community my only key is to show them the proof!

Hahaha proof works too. I understand the Philippines and i understand what you mean here

Thank you sir, thank you for accepting and understanding about my poor english...hahaha

Congrats! This post has been selected at random as a part of our promotional campaign for a free resteem. Learn about this new initiative

Thank you!

Wow! You give me now an idea, sir. Thank you very much! This is very useful to newbies in Steemit like me.

I am glad you found something. This applies alot to youths!

Nice, i like it the your post, thanks

Great article @surpassinggoogle! As a newcomer to Steemit, I would say showing them real rewards and sending them insightful content is a good way to start. Keep connecting with people and it will go a long way!

Yes, i apply that in my curation. Many times, i look beyond content and look at effort, then i also give tips on improvement

Hi... @surpassunggoogle. Best regards for you... Many of your posts are very good. Hopefully the better. To be our best.

Amazing to see initiatives like this to help and promote Steemit/Crypto in developing countries where the potential is really huge. #teamphilippines is awesome. Steem on!

Thank you for an upbuilding comment!

I was once an honorary member of #teamphilippines on the Discord Channel LOL Very awesome and funny people, I should check in there again soon.

Yes, you should. I am not very active in channels though cos of too many activities but i visit once in a while

if going from small batch would tell in groups of friends and tell to convey about it to others as the best recommendation that comes is from friends

Yes, that works. Word of mouth works. When it comes to group, i like to go for the leader of the group!

yeah i have seen this method working fine even for smaller things word of mouth does the magic ;)

amigo #resteemia at your service

'join us on steemit and let's have you stop smoking', I think this is a good concept to promote steemit. nice post @surpassinggoogle

ReSteemia
'UpVote ReSteem Comment'

Thank you picking out that point. Hahaha

Great article. When I talk about Steemit I talk about the quality of the content (like this one)

Hahaha thank you alot!

I just discovered you, @surpassinggoogle and believe you bring up a great point! I tell people to come join us on Steemit because it's social media that pays you, but, I haven't ever withdrawn money yet. Steemit, to me, is an outlet that allows me to create, learn, love and encourage. Thank you for this beautiful post.

Sweetness! Thank you for an awesome comment!

Hello @surapassinggoogle . Your blog says it all. I am a student from Cebu, Philippines and as I already finish reading your blog i
i realize that TODAY I will try my best to campaign steemit.com not only to teachers but also to students. Very helpful blog especially to all steemians that are new here in this Wonderful community. MAXIMUM RESPECT TO YOU SIR

Great. Develop your own journey as well as that is as essential

"to de-yossify himself" - nice!!!! :) Nice read again. We will support you in any way we can :)

I wonder how many people got that. Thank you!

thanks for the great work that you are doing in the steemit community. this is a very great and encouraging post. i read somewhere when someone said "that there are some people who think of the next generation and not the next payout". Now i understand clearly what he means.

Thanks for the great work you do @surpassinggoogle

I want to meet that person who said those words. I say those same words! That's what its about. People do sleepless nights for us daily! Steemit is a result of other people's sleepless nights!

I must congratualate you on a wonderful post. We all need to work together to build steemit. Starting with the phillippes and carry on from there around the world. Internet and steemit has made the world a small place. I am old and enjoy every moment will really thank you at surpassinggoogle.

Yes i know you do!

Im with you through all the way of your great advocacy @surpassinggoogle 😊. Upvoted and resteemed! 😊

Hi @surpassinggoogle, your post give me a new spirit to post something. Are you going to challenge Micro-Soft by creating a Micro-Hard? :D I am a little surprised to read this section. A very interesting post @surpassinggoogle. You have created the interesting posts.

This is a wonderful post. Wondering if the rest of Namibia will embrase steemit??

We can brainstorm ways to make that happen. I am always available to speak in a google hangout if you set up a meeting. Nice to meet. Are there some other steemians from Namibia too?

Honestly dont know. How do one even begin searching for them?

Very interesting post..i agree with that not all the people join with steemit looking for earn but any people others only just share the information each others.

Thanks for information. Good posting...
See u in philipina some day... Lol...
Praying for me to can come your worderfull countries....

how I wish I was as good as you but I know I will learn more as I go on. Thanks for this!

To be honest, I found Steemit initially as too complex. I am glad some of my Filipino friends convinced me. I am volunteering in a school for PWDs headed by DSWD and we are teaching deaf people. Aside from that, I belong to a sign language congregation where it can be costly. I am actually aiming to bring deaf people in this community, but it would be extremely difficult. I am going to write a post about that soon. I jist hope I can bring them here.

i got this idea to promote steemit for student at university, so here they can share what they got and discus any problem related to their project

Yes, that is how i would do it. @steemiteducation aims to accomplish that.

I think first we must analyze the normal youth here in the Philippines, most youth here in the Philippines are mostly on Social Media like Facebook, Twitter, and many more. Why do they go on social media site like this? They go to these sites for the CONTENT, and the COMMUNITY, and INTERACTIONS with everyone. So I may say first promote it by using these aspects of Steemit in to promoting it. First show them interesting posts some posts where they can learn something, and then slowly introduce the earning aspects of steemit and why is it different to normal social media sites.

Great initiative you have, you have my 100% support. Imagine in the right now and the future we can help alleviate the poverty here in our country. We can inspire them instead of getting in to bad things to earn money, they will just go to steemit and earn by sharing knowledge, ideas, and talents.

God Bless and Keep up the good work.

Dear Sir @surpassinggoogle
@dinisanda is my friend. He is discuss with me how to STEEMIT circle made in our country. Your advice is very valuable for ours. This post is valuable.
Thanks for sharing.
Resteemed and followed.
Cheers!

good morning sir,

Very informative post.... Thanks for sharing... love it!

Nice article, good quality content, very uplifting and encouraging!
Thanks for sharing:)

Yossi? lol! It's spelled as single s. Anyhoo, nice writing! I like how you breathe Steemit in and out. I admire your passion on this platform. That's why I'm telling you like a grandma, "Hijo, take good care of your health. Stop being depressed and meditate. Try yoga. It will help a lot too. Youtube it. It will change your life the way Steemit changed yours. :-)

On a different note, the gift cards will be ready tomorrow. Let's work on weekend and hand it over to people alrighty? Be in the best shape of your life. "Love yourself" according to Justin Bieber. :-)

Congratulations @surpassinggoogle!

upvoted again.. :)

Great piece....hoping to see more and more of this....really helpful...upped

I enjoyed this post. Blockchain technology is what initially led me to Steem, however what I found about the culture and platform is what led me to stay. I saw Steemit as an opportunity to help showcase hidden and untapped talent and skills in places where there was so much. Places where people did not have an avenue to go to because of who they were, where they were born, and because of the many limitations granted to them in their lives. I found it a more open society who accepted people for even the smallest things and the possibility of giving those with dreams a chance to succeed and do more - to escape the realities of their life and dream and do bigger things and possibly become successful doing the things they love and have a talent for.

Starting with youth is great idea - encourage them to continue dreaming and reaching for the stars and teach them that nothing is impossible. I look forward to seeing what else you have planned and where this journey will take you next!

@surpassinggoogle Good job & Great post!!!

Great post bro

Nice topic . Thanks for share

Nice! 👍👍

It seems to me that it is still important for young people from developing countries to know that they will get acquainted with peers from other countries, including those from very advanced ones, on Steemite. This is also a good motivation!

Yeah, I think steemit should be introduced as a platform to share and cater talents and original contents. Earning should be secondary as that would set expectations. Anybody coming to steemit must be aware that they would have to indulge and contribute then eventually grow.
However, it must also be pointed out that steemit is a very active community wherein help is always around. You actually don't even have to ask most of the time.... which is great!

mmm good job
