I find the upvoting payout crazy. Recently had 50 up votes and earned nothing. Had one post with way less and made 48 stem dollars. How does that make any sense?

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

    Read the white paper and it makes perfect sense. :) Sybil attacks are bad.
