So, someone just comment bombed my first Steem blog post, which I assume will potentially deter others from participating in the comment section. I would also assume this is not the first time this has happened on #steemit.
Potential Changes to Address This Issue
- Add flags for possible community led deletion of comments. If community votes (say 10 people) to remove a comment, then the comment is either fully deleted or becomes invisible.
- Limit the number of characters in a comment. (Not a fan of this, as some ideas really do take a lot of words to expound appropriately.)
- Add a flag to user accounts as spammers, getting flagged 10 times would suspend comment ability for a day. Continued abuse could result in the account being deleted.
Anyway, it certainly is not fun to have to scroll though this
Just to see the next comment...
Yup comment is hidden but it is still a pain especially if you do like me and hit unhide without thinking

It also makes the site slow to a crawl on iPad...and for some reason causes issues for all comments to load sometimes... :^(

Yeah, I see what you mean. Huge. Someone could DOS the site with enough of those...
@anyx just posted about his cheetah bot running into it. Same thing.
