How to make your posts beautiful by using special tags.

in steemit •  7 years ago

It's important to make sure your posts have good content AND look good to the viewers. In case you didn't know, you can easily style your posts to make them more aesthetically pleasing by using Markdown. Some of these options are available inside the editor provided my steemit (below title to the right) when writing your post.

How to use:

Steemit supports special tags for defining text such as <b> for bold and <i> for italic.
In order to use them, simply insert the formatting tag followed by the text and then then the closing tag which is exactly the same but with an extra /

Here is some of most commonly used formatting elements along with instructions on how to use them.

Centering images or text:

You can center your images by using HTML tag <center>

Centered text

<center> Centered text </center>
<center> image URL </center>

Styling text:

Using simple HTML tags, you can style your text.

For example: <b> Some bold text... </b>
This will appear bold " Some bold text... " like this.

Commonly used tags:

Bold text : <b> text </b>
Italic text : <i> text </i>
Deleted text : <del> text </del>
Subscript text : text
Superscript text : text
For heading: <h1> Text </h1>

You can also combine them by writing the tag inside another tag

i.e

For bold italic: <b> <i> Text </i> </b>
 For italic word inside a heaidng: <h1> Text <i> italic </i> </h1>

Adding a clickable button that points to a link:

You can create a "click here" button that points to a link outside or inside steemit.

You can do that by <a href="Your link"> text that will be clickable </a>

For example: <a href="www.google.com">Click here</a> to go to Google.

This will appear as: click here to go to Google.

You can replace the click here with any text of your choosing.

To add a horizontal line:

To add a horizontal line simply type
<hr>

This is gonna be you perfectly expressing what you want in your posts after you start implementing these things.
