Honestly I get a kick out of it myself, but I understand how some folks may really be annoyed by it.

It's the principle of it really that sticks out.

To stand by while examples like this can and should be dealt with, and do nothing -- is not rooted in Liberty.

I'm sure @ned and @dan just have to be careful not to remove any liberties too fast (no matter how negative they are), without thinking through the best way to do it across a broad spectrum so it's more of a system fix as opposed to blocking just one person. There should be a good way to fix this long term if anybody else decided to do this too, they just have to take their time and come up with the most feasible options to mitigate this type of spamming on the network.

Liberties for the masses should not allow those of others to be trampled or harm to come to them. Also addressed a few places here.

Thanks again.

Playing devil's advocate here... Isn't @asshole exposing a short-coming of Steem? It's either a tricky problem with no obvious solution or the developers just don't take it seriously enough to fix so @asshole is making it into a squeaky-wheel. Taking @asshole out of action would only treat a symptom of the problem rather than solve it.

That is basically what the bulk of this blog post was about.

It was good for somebody to bring it to the forefront so it may get resolved quicker. We'll see.
