In any healthy city, transport is a key factor of the infrastructure and the best functioning cities in the world have multiple structures to support moving people to and from where they need or want to be. A transportation network is much like a communication system except instead of moving people, communication moves ideas. There are various ways to achieve the transportation of ideas and depending on the target destination, the delivery method is going to shift.
Our content is is our idea and how we transport it to the audience will be influenced on both the type of content and what we are trying to achieve. What I notice is that many people seem to not think about their audience when they are writing or the delivery method they use. This is of course personal but, I do think that they are still looking for an audience to read their work but do they give themselves the best opportunity?
I deal with a lot of technical people and something that often frustrates them is having to communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences. They complain that the audience doesn't get it but, as Einstein said, if you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. The other aspect I find interesting is that these same people view themselves as efficient and logical thinkers but, if they are unable to communicate their ideas effectively to who they need to, where is their efficiency and logic perception feedback coming from?
If they were efficient and logical, when they are presenting to a non-tech audience they would find the most efficient ways to deliver their ideas and for the most part, that is via mass transportation that doesn't target any one member of the group but caters for all. However, this will change when they are looking at niche audience groups.
It is much easier to just write and present ourselves as we want and there is no problem in doing so but, it also means that we are going to have issues transporting our ideas to many people. Again, there is no problem in this either unless what you are looking for is a larger audience for your work.
How do you approach the presentation of your work, who is your target audience, what delivery methods do you use? Have you thought much about it?
Within the city, transportation is key and within the Steem city, communication is that key. The infrastructure is there but it isn't built to automatically connect the audience to the individual, groundwork needs to be done by the posting account. This takes a certain amount of investment, interaction, discussion, trial and error until the connections are made. In time, perhaps more of it will get automated but for now, we have to drive ourselves.

It is also easy to get used to being good, but difficult to get used to being better. Better as in extensive continuous improvement which also affects ones scope or reach, a lot of time people begin to understand other people as time passes as a result of familiarity due to frequent engagement, so it is easy to think one is getting better, whereas no, your audience is the only one getting to understand you better, so to expand ones reach, consideration of the audience matters a lot
Really these are thought processes for success in most things in life
Yes every audience is entitled to their opinion about what rocks their boat, the presenter has to ensure that he has done his best from his part
Hands on the wheel my friend. Its going to be a long drive

This is a really good point. What helps it is having a reference group that is better again. Rather than be driven by the slaps on the back, get inspired by those above.

Passing ideas to people sometimes is a difficult task. The receivers perception may also hinder them from understanding our ideas.
We have to find a way to communicate to our audience. Find the best form of expression to relate with them, because we have to carry everyone in our audience along. Failure to do this we leave some people out and they may just not find a way to relate with it.
Communication is two sided. When I give, I expect to have a receiver, the receiver is the responder. A responder is that person that got the message. When there is no response at all then this is a yardstick to awaken better forms of expression.

The audience plays a critical feedback role but too often, the presenter is unresponsive unless the feedback that arrives is positive. At Steemit for example, everyone wants to do what they want, the way they want but also want the audience to accept them. This is a social platform and there is always the option to ignore.

Exactly. People want to do their own thing, unconcerned if their thing attracts an audience. If it does not and the blogger is unresponsive to this then with time no one would get to view their posts. This time they will just be talking to themselves because they never get to carry an audience along.

Hi Taraz. Making something that is complicated more simple is more difficult than one thinks. Luckily I am used to simplifying instructions and is more important than you imagine. One has to know your target market and age group etc. You are lucky as i imagine your followers mainly are 35 - 60. Educated to some degree and have a sense of humour. Have you done any work on your target market etc?

some act like kindergarteners so it is hard to target :P
I spend quite a lot of time in various chats and i am pretty responsive to the comments sections. I use this to get the general feel of where things need to go. In my day job however, I deal exclusively with professionals across various fields which also helps we understand certain aspects that might be needed.
Of course, I do also have my own 'blog life' too and indulge from time to time. My aim is to create a place that is not tailored too heavily but facilitates conversation and interaction.

That sounds good. Freedom to discuss whatever and bringing some thinking into it. Are you a psychiatrist of some sort? You tend to analyze situations quite well and was wondering if your work made you into this way of thinking.

I like your cities trams. I would like to see the audience for the small subjects I post about grow, it's going to require Steemit to get more popular though.

Albert Einstein once said; i believe i know something only if am able to explain it to my grandmother. I know its hard to explain technical terms to lay people but we must always try

As a child I always had to explain what I've been learning, cause everyone always told me that if you're able to explain it to someone who doesn't know anything about it then you learnt efficiently. And today I'm very happy to have done that, cause that's actually very useful in different situations in life!
Great post, I really enjoyed reading it :)

Great photography and again a great broad spectrum piece. I find doctors especially frustrating, cut to the chase. My father was a very bright man and asked me to hold on to a few things in life of which two were logic and "keep it simple stupid" KISS. He taught me from a young age that over-complication will get you lost in your own maize. Intelligence found in simplicity.
