Mostar
As many of you already know, I have been sharing the notes about my holiday that I have managed to go on thanks to my earnings that I got on Steemit. It is so special for me as I also tell about how everything works very well thanks to Steemit. Some of them have already applied to be a member of this site, so new steemians are on the way! In the last day of my holiday, I decided to go to Croatian side of the city where orthodox society lives.
The Croatian side is quite interesting as there are some ruined buildings, cemeteries and amazing graffitis on the wall. In the last day of my staying in Mostar, I decided to check all of them and try to understand what they symbolize in this society where you can see a great variety. In addition to their meanings that they contain, they also make the city more lovely, coloring the walls of the ruined buildings.
Women in Bosnia
Women in Mostar and all other cities of Bosnia, have had really hard times because of the wars that happened in the country in different times of the history. They lost their husbands and other members of the family. It is not something easy to get over, but to create a better future for the country, women must stand up and work really hard to provide a more promising future for the next generations. When I saw the message on the third graffiti which says " Recharge yourself" , it directly reminded of women.
When I looked at the stores and other places that people work in Bosnia, I observed that many women are actively involved in working which must exist in all societies. If women are not financially independent, it is hard to live under the dominance of men who promise to create a good life for their women. I don't agree with this perspective. All women must work hard and educate themselves so that they can be completely independent!
Independence
There are lots of other graffitis on the walls that contain the same message which focuses on the freedom of women. Many of these graffitis are anonymous, but I think it is not so hard to guess who created these art pieces. If women want to be effective in society and create an equality between genders, they are the ones who must start the movement. IF they wait for something from others, it will be completely opposite their ideas.
There are also some graffitis or drawings on the wall that show the hatred between groups. There are still some people who can't erase in their hearts which make me feel deeply sad. As new generations can't learn what the love between nations means and don't see how important it is for their generation, we can't expect this country to be strong in the future. There are also drawings that target at hatred movements!
Unity
Only way to make this city more powerful and sustainable is to create a strong bond between two sides of the city. My favorite graffiti is the one that a child or man holding a kind of balloon which is in the shape of a heart. There is a strong message on the wall which says " I love Mostar". At the same time, there are traces of bullets on the same wall. This man or child must know that he must love everybody , not discriminating anyone in the society. By doing this, the city that he loves will always be strong.
All these graffitis give strong messages that I stated above. Their existence on the other side of the city is very important since the messages that are given are really international. All nations must share these ideas and build their nations based on these important themes.
Final Note
These are my final notes from Mostar. I will start sharing my experiences that I have had in some great Serbian cities. I hope you enjoy reading posts. I like creating diversity in my posts, because I don't like focusing on certain things. Thanks for taking your precious time reading my posts. Steem on! Don't forget to write your meaningful comments about my work!
