i'm now receiving LED light notifications when you comment on my posts. (Without pc, phone or screen, mouse or keyboard)

Yesterday i started testing a other approache and it's working now for a full day, and very happy with it.

Will soon update and explain how you can start using this yourself and have LED notification and the SteemPi webinterface on your TV. more information about my project can be found here:  STEEMPI Introduction post

Happy you like my other posts about 3d printing as well.

If you want to have your own SteemPi, you would need to buy a Raspberry pi and a LED, soon i will write up a new tutorial.

Thank you automated message, you just automated a other processes, turning on a LED :)

WOW, you're an engineer ^^

Thanks for lighting up my day :)

A pi will definitely be my next investment. Unfortunately even such tiny amount of money is a bit too much for me right now. Maybe I'll buy one with steem. :)
I want to make very a little simple home theater for my dad who loves to watch old movies. Maybe voice controlled... hopefully. :P Or something steem related of course. We'll see... :)

Oh and maybe you can make it read the comments too. Can't be that hard... first google result seems to be very promising.

You could also look into the 5$ pi zero, my next test will be on a zero as well. https://www.adafruit.com/product/2885

But it wont be so good for movies i guess.

have my upvote

Yes I will go for a Zero. I don't need so much performance. The videos don't have to be in hd quality. But with all components I will need $40-50 approximately and I need someone with a soldering iron. :D

And i just see that the pi 2 didn't drop in price still around 40,-
Zero W also a nice option but seems out of stock (of course).

If i remember correct zero can play most of the 700 mb divx files without a problem, navigating through the interface was a bit slow.

Seems to be sufficient for my purposes.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Thanks for your comment and lighting up my day :) , i was thinking about that but didnt look into detail into the options yet(periscoop or something else maybe)

Keep up the great work!

BTW, do you have to pay for each time it pings the API?

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Thanks for your reply , support and lighting up the LED!

No, need to pay,
it makes use of the free Steemit Streemian RSS feed. (made by @xeroc)

Very good.
Now you just need to do a tweak so that you have a Seem.V.P. notification, so that your top posters get a special light notification. ;)

Thanks for the suggestion, different lights or lights effect and/or different colours are on the list and would also be nice to have as well as different lights on transfers followers, upvotes and V.Ps. indicators.

You're a superstar!

Awesome job! I'm glad that you were able to figure out how to make this work :)

Thank you :)

Awesome idea 👍. I want one ☺

Me too!!

it's getting closer to become a reality :)
