Hello everyone,
I am a normal guy, I like to play videogames or read interesting stuff.
But as a person who spends most of his free time in front his computer the last couple of years were pretty tiring for me.
--NO OFFENSE--
First of all I want to say that I don't want to grudge the success of any Youtuber, Blogger or anyone else on the Internet who’s content I don't like or enjoy. Maybe I grew out of it or maybe I just don't understand the hype of all these vlogs and tutorials or maybe I'm simply not the target audience.
When I got my first computer and shortly after my first broadband connection around 2001 the whole internet felt super untouched and there were so many things you could discover. There was no Youtube or Facebook you could only share things with your friends via ICQ, IRC or MSN Messenger. Even better was the fact, that you could easily decide if you want to look at it or not. But things have changed and at some point I was wondering why I get so upset by browsing through social media or Youtube.
My setup 2007
Then I understood the actual problem: it's getting much more difficult to avoid things you don’t want to see.
As guy at the age of 27 I really don’t want to see little girls with a make-up tutorials. I don't want to see prank channels where everything is fake. I remember there was a time where a prank video was funny, because it was unique and special and you saw it for the first time.
But the whole prank scene became a market and we can’t blame Ashton for this! There is absolute no more originality left. It has become a business where people are earning insane amounts of money. It’s everywhere and I think that this is one of the main reasons you are not able to avoid it. No one cares for what reason you clicked a video. What matter is that you click on it. Because a click means money.
It is frustrating to see that Youtube and other websites present me with content, that they think could interest me, I don’t even understand.
Thank you for reading my first article and thank you Steemit for making it easier to sort out the stuff I want to watch or read.
Have a great time folks !
