The problem isn't that comments aren't paid, it's that no one upvotes comments... as I pointed out here: https://steemit.com/steemit/@telos/comments-need-love-too

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam

    Yes thats true, no one upvotes comments or engage effectively in the comments section, i believe the discussion should have more rewards that the actual post, even curation rewards too, so upvoting and contributing to comments should be made to earn you more .
