THE AGONY OF BEING A MINNOW ON STEEMIT

in steemit •  7 years ago

Joining steemit was a life changing experience for me just like many steemians. It's always a big opportunity for everyone that they want to make the best out of it. From when we hear or read about steemit we always feel like we are just a step away from becoming millionares. Yes there is alot of money on steemit, some people have quit their jobs to concentrate on blogging and guess what? they have managed to pull it off.
On steemit we interact with all different kinds of people with different opinions about most things, there is a large amount of useful information that we receive and sometimes give. We enjoy returns and progresses.

But what is it like to be a minnow on steemit?

Just as life in general beginnings are not always things to be proud of. Remember that first week when you were learning to play chess? Yes it was frustrating, you didn't know much about chess and maybe it always felt like you were about to give up.

The truth is, on steemit it's more frustrating.
You can call life a game, but when it comes to frustrations on steemit you always take it personal.

what are some of the problems minnows face?

Actually not alot,
Just like most steemians we all face the same problem.
Lack of progress.
Ever been at the same reputation for so many months?
Ever found it had to get genuine followers or you made a post it's five days and you haven't received any upvote.
Ever felt like begging for an upvote?

Maybe you spent the entire night writing a post (just like am doing right now) and no one gets to read it.

Working hard, but just because am minnow, whatever i will be fine.

I have ever gotten 26upvotes from a post that made less than 0.009SBDs. You can imagine how i felt when i looked at my beautifully drafted post.
Do you sometimes be like, i need to save this post to when i have reached a certain number of followers?
Everyone newbie on steemit is looking for that breakthrough, that little light seen from afar in a tunnel.

We want to reach somewhere that is not so bad after all.
Everyone on steemit wants to be a whale but few are. You know just as in life few will be at the top and it takes dedication and sacrifice to get there.

wondering what a minnow can do?

What makes me happy is that our friends the whales and dolphins were once minnows, what they did to get there, they know better.
I have talked to a few of them and yeah they know being a minnow is so challenging. I guess it's what differentiates between the ones that are willing to steem and those who came just because they were told that steemit has money.
Sometimes it's fine to feel the pain so we can enjoy the joy of our sweats. Because think about it, how could we call it a success if we didn't toil to get there?
If some people have managed to make it, we can too.

Hope is the last thing we are supposed to lose, we shouldn't. There is alot of success on our platform. Let's make good use of our talents.

Let's make thoughtful comments.
Let's comment with brilliant opinions.
Let's make educative posts.
Let's let out accurate news.
Let's upvote nice content.
Let's interact with fellow steemians and most importantly,
Let's ask for help when we can't do it ourselves.
Fellow Ugandans, colleagues who i promote steemit with, it's better to let newbies know that steemit is only for those who persist. Those who don't know how to quit.

Happy steeming fellow steemians.

If you liked my opinions please upvote so you can be able to see another post from me because i will still be around lol.. i will not run away.

Great post! Most people claiming to be minnows are not even minnows, they are still planktons. Minnows usually have SP from 500 to 1000.... Anything lower are just plankons. Blew your mind right there right?

This is a hell of a great post, damn am so proud of you bro.....
This is so encouraging to all minnows out there, let's keep Steemin.

Because think about it, how could we call it a success if we didn't toil to get there?
If some people have managed to make it, we can too.

You are right,Steemit is for those who don't know how to quit....!

This post deserves a resteem...and it's got it from me.

Welcome, atleast am not alone in this struggle it gives me more hope.

We maybe minnows, but we have a heart of a whale. A school of minnows will make a difference. 😎

Minnows majorly face the most difficult time on steemit.
Remember as they join, some join with high expectations thinking this is a go get rich easily plartfom.
Not knowing that they have to build trust in the audience of steemit so that they get followers which might take up like a year and above.
Some chill out after seeing their posts not working out and others just feel like neglected from the big steemit audience.
I advise the majority (minnows) to read this.
Thanx pliz for the info. I've picked something image

Yep I totally agree on the points that you have mentioned. The thing is if you are not getting any results yet by just joining steemit and your post is not earning that much. Take it as a positive challenge.

As they have said, once you are on the bottom the only option for you is to rise up! Thanks for the uplifting message!

I totally agree with. We do face some challenges but hope that soon they will get done. Keep steemit in progress brother @tesaganewton

Is nice to now other people think that way, great post. Some minnows (including myself) go through this once in a while. And the only answer is "Don't give up."

Yes to never give up whatever the results.

I agree with you on this @tesaganewton. Please keep writing!

A shout out from a slow tiny plankton!
Thanks everyone steemians.. I have never joined a platform that most of the members are so eager to support each other especially us new comers, thousand thumbs up!.
Yes, I experience that here in steemit, entry level is hard, but same as all other platform. The difference I get is the love and support all steemians give. And that makes me positive that if we planktons eager and determine to learn and do, WE WILL GET THERE!
SPIRIT!

I feel the superman's confidence, we shall make it.

I fully feel you..Great Post

This literature is so damn inspiring and well crafted thanks bro and keep up the good work. Amazing post.
