MY MINNOW'S MISTAKES

in steemit •  7 years ago

If you have just joined, let me save you from my newbies or minnows mistakes. I heard about #Steemit for the first time three weeks ago. I was perusing Facebook around 2:00am my local time to combat my insomnia when I came across this video by @jerrybanfield https://www.facebook.com/jbanfield/videos/1460116067341898/ :)

I watched it in both disbelief and anticipation. I rushed here and true to his word, it was all real. You can imagine the insurmountable curiosity and excitement the first few hours. I didn't need sleep again that night.

I opened my account and officially joined the #steemians community. After hours of continually going through posts, I had discovered the first post should be my intro. Driven by the need or greed of seeing dollar signs replacing likes, I did mine in a rush... (https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@tezmel/hello-from-africa)

This was my first MISTAKE. I call it a mistake because I left quite a lot out and I have since learnt it can't be deleted or edited. These options are only possible within the first seven days of posting. My second was thinking I can deactivate my account and start afresh, that's impossible.

You see... steeming will require you to be more keen and cautious about what you post. I believe #steemit is the only known to me that is social platform that provokes discipline, positivity, accountability and responsibility in higher levels. All these are forcefully enforced by your inability to delete your own mistakes.

My twenty days experience advise is take time. Read and absorb (https://steemit.com/faq.html ) then go through the #introduceyourself posts before doing yours. Join Steemit chat to ask any questions first before making mistakes then writing about them later like am doing. It saves you enough agony. Have patience about your progress. You can't compete with #whales as #minnows! Happy steeming.

Resteeming is much allowed... Upvotes and follows are deeply appreciated!
