Creative Steemit Intros, Which One Do You Like Best?

Any master storyteller will tell you that the most important thing you can do when you tell a story is to hook the audience in the very first line.

No matter the style, the opening must always spark your audience’s interest and grab their attention from the very beginning.

Even more so in this day and age where we’re competing with 17 other open-tabs on everyone's browsers.

After all, attention is the most sought after currency in the marketing world, and that’s something any content creator should pay attention to - pun probably intended.

Video Killed the Radio Star

There is a lot more video creators in the world right now than any generation before us, and that's a good thing because there’s also an immensely huge amount of attention in video-content as a consequence.

So for those of you who create videos and want to promote our favorite platform and grab some of that untapped attention, I have a little gift for you towards the end of the post, and I hope you’ll like it.

Intros are Gold!

I was listening to Noah Kagan’s Podcast the other day and I stumbled upon an interview with an NPR producer about how to get hundreds of thousands of listeners to your podcast, and the opening line was literally this:

“If you don’t hook people in like the first minute… You’re screwed!”

Because at the end of the day, any master storyteller will tell you that the most important thing you can do when you tell a story is to hook the audience in the first line.

With that in mind, here are a few intros for the video content creators among us who want to spread the word about steem…

Let me know what you think:

Número Uno:

Numero Due:

Numéro Trois:

Numba Four:

Which one do you like Best?

From The Alien with love.

Tremendo trabajo, felicitaciones, me encantaron los videos!

Gracias Carlos! Me alegro :)

The third is the best, and also first is very cool.

Thank you!

I liked them in their particular order...

  1. #1
  2. #2
  3. #3
  4. #4

Haha that's awesome!

I think the first one is good, i like how it comes from a drone like view!

Thanks! I like it too :)

Because at the end of the day, any master storyteller will tell you that the most important thing you can do when you tell a story is to hook the audience in the first line.

SO true. People have short attention spans these days. If you don't pique their interest immediately.... Adios!

Yeah It's superfast! We have to be more creative, which is a good challenge as well :)

@the-alien It was a tough decision for me personally between #1 and #4, though ultimately I went with #1.
I really enjoy that cinematic feel, descending from the clouds, as it caught my attention, anticipating and waiting to see what's next.
This anticipation immediately caught my attention, and made it feel more of a revolution (as Steemit is in the social network world).
Nonetheless, they are all great, but I'd have to stick with #1 for my favorite.

Yeah the first is pretty awesome, I love the cinematic feel as well!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!

Nr 2 was cool but my favorit is nr 3😊
Really great job, inpressive. Followed

Number 3 seems to have the most votes it seems. :)

Tack så mycket!

Varsågod😊 ur welcome.
Ok. It was my favorite but u did a great job on all of them.

First of all - 4 videos are great ideas and can be used. But the best ones are №1 and №3. I loved them!

I'm glad you liked them! Thanks for the feedback :)

The first line is important and this is a good initiative. I would say 3rd is my favourite. As a storyteller I would just say that you need periodically other "first lines". Otherwise, the audience is lost no mather how great is the beginning.

Yeah I totally agree, the goal of the second line is to make people want to read the third.. And that one to the next... And if at all possible, the last line goes boom :)

That's awesome @the-alien! Thank you very much for sharing those selections of intros! I love them all but I think #3 stands out because of its simplicity!
Great post thank you!

Thank you @ducky9605! Yeah it's simple and short, I like it as well :)

Good stuff! I think I like #2 and #4 the best, but they are all cool.

Thanks man! It seems there are videos for all tastes :) I think 4 is perfect for Music related videos for example.

Wow these are incredible @the-alien! I like the 4th one the best! Very dynamic and it makes steemit look like it's a very advanced, and a thing of the future, which I think sends the perfect message.

Thanks so much Natasha! I'm happy you like them :)

These are great! Wonderful work. I can't wait to see people start using them as intros in their own videos.

Yeah me too! It will be a great opening hook for the creators, and beneficial to steem as well :)

The first one looks pretty nice. I think that is the most representative for the Steemit world - from generally to particularly or from the big picture (meaning Steemit environment as the clouds from your video are) to the each Steemit user account.

Oh that's a great way to look at it! Thanks for the feedback Ema.

extraordinary
Interesting post
thanks for sharing

Visit also my post, may be interesting
Thank you all friends

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it :)

I think number 3rd will be the solid one...

Yeah many votes for the third.

Thank you!

My pleasure sir

as soon as you said tou have gift towards the end, I skipped to the end. lol. number 4.

Haha yeah number four is pretty cool :)

@the-alien. Wow. They're awesome! My favorite was the 1st one because it was as if Steemit was now ready for the masses. 😄

We are ready for the masses :) Thank you Karen!

In my opinion the first is the best video!

Thanks @rtdcs!

Number 3, for sure!

Solid!! :)

Thanks guys! The third is really cool yeah :)

Umm I like the thumbnail for this post best... because Star Wars.

My favorite is the fourth. After seeing the movie Baby Driver last night I am really in a sound/music mode right now. But they are all really cool!

Haha of course :)

Oh how's the movie? I've been waiting to see it for months!

It was amazing. Like something I have never heard before. I did a review.

In order, most like to least:

#3 conveys breaking the mold

#4 could grab the attention of the techno generation

#1 hey, drones are popular

#2 You're not trying to promo a movie.

They're all good opening shots but where's the message?

Take #3 and give it more, Steemit is different, it breaks the mold. Something along those lines. Show them the purple cow. (Seth Godin)

Just my input.

First of all great observations and on point.

The other thing is there is no message, these are just intros to place before videos, kind of like to give a shout out to steemit before a podcast or a Youtube video.

Howver, we did some promos before, like this one:

Yeah I love Purpule Cow! Stand out and be different. :) Like in this case, for any steemians who want to give a shout out to steemit in the beginning of a video, they can use an intro and it's better than a logo :)

Great input by the way, thank you!!

That was a great video.

Thanks for listening and taking the time to respond.

Where are my bucket heads' blasters? They got hung on a clothesline? Those idiots can't do anything right.

Hahaha

I definitely liked the first one best, but my nearly fourteen year old son liked the last one--it has that electronica vibe that's become super popular with the younger generation :)

Yeah we all have different tastes :) That's why variety is always good. Thanks a lot for the input!

Seems like they will each appeal to different audience. They're all good quality.

Yeah exactly! Each one appeals to a different audience :)

SO cool, thanks for sharing this good post, keep steeming and i keep following

Thanks a lot! I appreciate it :)

Number one is the best 👍

Thanks Akiyoshi! It seems everyone likes number 1 :)

for me i like the last no 4 more meaning and have a concept of ideas behind

Yeah number 4 is pretty cool :) Thanks for the comment and sharing your opinion, I appreciate it!

All is good and I think third is best

Thanks Yahyaoa! I appreciate the comment.

Hmmm. Tough choice their all good. I really like number 1 one but number 2 and 3 are really cool to. Nice job. You have a new follower and my vote :)

Thank you Jenn!

No problem. I enjoy seeing your work and creativity.

the third is great but they are all amazing really great post thanks a lot for sharing and keep on posting ;)

Thank you! I'll make sure to keep on posting :)

The first is the best video

Thanks for the feedback!

#2 easily is the most appealing. It's simple and eloquent and doesn't distract from the point

Oh I haven't looked at it that way, but thanks! A lot of people prefer 2 it seems. :)

I prefer number 4, a solid intro @alien

Thank you!

Number 3 was positively brilliant. Broadcast quality. Nicely done.

Thanks, I appreciate it!

Número uno :)

Gracias!

¡De nada!

The third is the best! It is very creative and very well made! I also like the others, but i feel they are a little bit too bombastic (esp number 1)...

Thanks George, yeah it's also short and concise which is good.

I liked 2,1,3,4 in that order. Did you create them yourself? It's really impressive!

Mine is 1,3,2,4... I wonder why I didn't put them in order in the first place :P

Nice post I like with your post

Thank you!!

Creative

Thank you!

I like #3 the most.

I appreciate the effort, they all look great!

But can I be completely honest? I think they're all a bit too long.

You quote an NPR Producer, who with regard to podcasts said: “If you don’t hook people in like the first minute… You’re screwed!”

For video content, I think you can easily replace minutes with seconds here. When I click on a video on Youtube and I don't know what's going on within 5 sec, I'm either scrolling to another part of the video, or I click another video (meaning you've lost me).

Advertisers know this. The advertised videos that play in front of the video you actually want to see can be clicked away after 5 secs. So they have 5 secs to impress the viewer, or they're gone. And they never get to see the rest of the possibly epic content.

So my advice: keep the awesomeness, but cap the length of the intros at 5-7 seconds max.

Hello again, I like the #1 and #2 the most. I, however, feel they are a bit slow. I would speed them up just a bit. Also, I would use bigger sound effects whoosh's sounds to get people's attention. Sorry for being so bold I played around with it really quickly to give you an example. Follow the link. You can see what I mean.

Best of luck.

#3

Thank you!

Sorry dude. I spent a minute of my life looking at all four. I want the minute back.

None of them jump out at me and provide any indication of why steemit is different , or better, or even what it really is.

These look like promos that a "big successful" company would put together, without having a real deep understanding of corporate purpose or goals. They all feel "me too". Been there, seen that already, done that.

Not trying to be too harsh. But you asked for feedback so I spend some time thinking about it for you

STEEM On!!

Thank you for the feedback.

Yeah you're right, none of them explains in details what steemit is, nor convinces anyone why it's better. That was never their purpose, and I'm sorry if you were expecting that from the logo.

It's just intros not ads, in essence animated logos work just like the simple logo it is only a symbol to a brand, they are not meant to provide deep understanding nor analysis. Although it would be interesting if they did.

Thank you for your time.

All the best!

I vote for # 4

Thanks for the feedback!

#3

Thanks Craig!

100%
🤜🤛

Good stuff here!

I would say #3. But it depends on the video after.

Thanks man!

#3

Thanks for the feedback!

I got to this post by link from the second post, and I will say my opinion has not changed, I am most impressed with number 5 and number 10))

But! All the work is amazing!

Very good work!

Thank you!

Intros are Gold is my choice 👌
Help me @blueheaven 🙋

Well I like it most when they tell quite clearly what they do for life and what they want to do on steemit. I.e. to make clear if I should to follow them :)

Two is my fave. I loved the others as well, and dearly wish I had some of the skills necessary to do things like that.
