coins will have to set them apart themselves. so far we are still in the btc dominated market so everything shakes when bitcoin shakes. most of the time the price fall is not because of bitcoin its because of some regulation or a news that effects whole market.
your pay checks depend on it ? how much do you earn and do you rely on your author rewards as i dont see any delegation. you must be required to post 10 times a day

I am also an indie game developer and I placed myself in a situation where I have as few costs as possible. I am powering down about 50 steem a week and have other coins to mix in for emergency funds ect. I dont post 10 times a day but I do Dlive streaming and post fairly often. Steem has been a really great platform for me.

aha. why are you powering down, i was under the impression that steem is the best for this kind of market situation. i was doing trading manually and i have developed a bot to help with some stuff in trading and in steem. in such a bearish market which spans over several weeks i was actually going to power up.

That's funny you mention this on steemit. I've noticed steem and sbd don't keep up with the other currencies.
I think it's awesome because even if the coins value drops, we will always have some reasurrance that we'll be back on track to the sbd price peg. Most people don't seem to notice how effective the blockchain's design is.

I think BTC is going to decouple this year.. or hope..
My (highly speculative) theory is that Bitcoin will continue to drop, but at some point there will be a turning point where some of the alts no longer drop alongside and have bottomed out before Bitcoin. The reason being that some alts are solid projects with upcoming excitement. If there's real value and potential there, then at some point buyers are going to protest against the dropping price and buy the tokens up because it's simply a good investment and crazy cheap price.
I know I'm starting to feel hungry to buy some of these bargains, in any case. I will wait a little longer before buying, but it shouldn't be too long now. Need another 20-30% drop before I buy, I think (for bitcoin anyway)
