What if Justin Sun and co-built the network and focused on upvoting only themselves? We wouldn’t be here if they did that and Steemit will never have been known by any except them.
Self-upvote is bad social behavior and not encouraged on Steemit. First, it defeats the community purpose which is socialization and then proves how egoistic, greedy, and proud the self-upvoter is.
Steemit is meant to promote socialization and support novelty in its reward based-system hence. The real value of money is in numbers: when numbers embrace and accept Steem its value will skyrocket and the most effective way to bring in the numbers we need to push Steem to the top is by rewarding others and not-self.
Stop self-upvoting
Now is the best time to invest in Steem!

Some of these things people do without knowing and for some they know without sharing Which is another form of greed , too many focus on money and forget about the sociality on steem, I have many friends because of steem. For example I was voting my self too but when I asked and understood what voting is, I was not doing that. I have decided that I can't do anything in steem when I have not understood and I will always ask questions to anyone I see can help me. This is perfectly correct. I remember back in the days where one will post a picture on Facebook and rush to hit the like button.
Apart from these , I think it also go a long way to proof that,the author lacks self confidence and does not believe in his work. Thanks for educating and sharing this.

Sometime I ask myself ”why should you do that if you are not just wicked ?”
A good content writer wouldn’t mindanything even if the community he/she is posting at, has a bad management system. Steemit is about good content and consistency not the rush for money first even though most of us came for the money.
Self upvote is a bad thing to me and commenting without voting is even worse provided you have the eligibility. Sometimes I go to read a post and I meet up to five comments but just one upvote which is mine cuz I even upvoted the person’s post before commenting after I had read through.
Let’s be responsible steemians and build each other and the Steemit ecosystem for we are only stronger together.

Thank you for the detailed explanation boss @thegreens. This will help a lot of users stop carrying out such practices. Some are ignorant like I did few times when I joined the platform and votes were not coming but stopped on my own without someone enlightening me about what it means to self vote. Some are aware but still continue to do it. Hopefully they will stop doing it.

This is a bad attitude and when you look at it critically ,most people who do self upvoting hardly vote on other people’s post.
Steemit can’t grow with this pace.
