I have been around Steemit now for almost two years, I have seen friends (and enemies) come and go. I have written about a whole range of subjects which to new friends and followers are not very obvious unless they scroll down and down and down ….
I was enthralled to come across the Bird Lady of NH recently, and a few of her followers who were also amateur ornithologists. Whilst doing my daily ‘walk the dog’ activity this morning I decided I wanted to share some of my bird stuff with her and her followers.
Republishing a previous post is frowned on here, and the ever watchful bot Cheetah usually comes along with chastisement so I was a bit wary to do that although I thik one could get away with it if you give yourself credit and explain it as a repost?

Then I had this brainwave (yes, only one…. I have a small, very preoccupied brain) to ‘advertise’ my Steemian career to date, publishing highlights of what I have done in the past twenty two months. Full of enthusiasm I opened my blog and started to scroll down … and down…. and down
It soon became abundantly clear that deciding which are ‘highlights’ was rather onerous and time consuming, so I decided to give links to some of the categories I have written about. Certainly for me my favourites are ‘Music Legends’, ‘In the Kitchen’ and ‘Dining Out in Cape Town’, but photography and music in general feature rather frequently

Great snowy selfie shot. A few days ago (when temps were 30sF/3C) I was so sick of seeing the white stuff, but as we've suddenly hit a heat wave (yesterday was 80sF/30C and today should be the same), this looks invitingly chilly.

Although I haven't done it, I actually think it's ok to repost old stuff, maybe with a new intro. The new people won't have seen it, and anyone elderly (like myself) can always choose not to vote a second time. [Elderly in Steemit terms that is.]

I stay away from the trending page as it makes me want to throw in the towel.... I just keep telling myself I do not do it for the money ..... but I did want to use it as a supplementary income when I retire ...just for my bad habit spend. Ah well, there is always Mithril ....

I never look at the trending page. Though I did look at the #steemit tag, under Trending and New, to try and find out why our posting options have disappeared. But there was so much other shit there that had nothing to do with Steemit, that I couldn't find anything useful and got very cross, and wanted to beat them all with a stick.
