Curation Rewards - New Strategy

I have noticed that my curation rewards are less than half of what they used to be, and this has been true for at least six weeks now

So I browsed through my Steemd entries and found an interesting fact. The minnows I have been manually curating were giving me a far better return than the @sweetjss and @samstonehill type posters for whom I have been voting religiously for almost a year.

So I went through my posts and received comments and chose a handful of regular supporters to receive my daily votes. So the following will receive a few cents guaranteed every time they post

If you have regularly been engaging with me by commenting on my posts and I have not included you in the list above, please comment below and I shall add you to the list.... obviously after confirming that what you say is true !!

I'm a manual curator and I'm doing very well for my sp value. My rules are:

vote above 85% power
vote after 30 minutes
don't vote on bot followed posts (or after bots)
vote for good, small, posts under $2 that have a hope of going to $5+. Aim for more.
comment on the post and tell the person what I like or how to improve depending.
resteem about half of the posts I upvote and focus on promoting the heck out of them here and on my other social media until the sixth day.
get people to follow my curation trail on my feed if they have trouble finding stuff to vote on. The more the better :)

I haven't got anyone set up for auto voting but I might when I have more sp. I only vote 10-15 times a day, so I don't need to yet. My vote is too small already so I don't use the slider.

I tried voting on the big guys in the beginning of my time here - very unsatisfying in every way. At least now I have friends :)

Thank you for a comprehensive, very eloquent comment. I really like your approach and will definitely go check out your blog (altho I suspect I have been there before) ... this comment deserves a 100% upvote {smile}
