20 Questions for Dan and Ned [Community Participation Requested]

in steemit •  8 years ago  (edited)

Let's come up with a list of 20 questions to ask @dantheman and @ned! Whatever questions you would like asked, post in the comments below. The top 20 will be selected, and asked to Dan and Ned in a follow up post.

Rules:

  1. Ask your questions as "top level comments" in reply to this post.
  2. Only ask one question per comment.
  3. You can post as many questions as you want.
  4. You can vote on as many questions as you want.
  5. You can comment on as many questions as you want.

Selection Criteria:

  1. The 10 questions with the highest payout will be selected
  2. The 5 questions with the most upvotes will be selected
  3. The 3 questions with the most (non-spam) comments will be selected
  4. One question that has the most original comment/reply to it will be selected (my subjective opinion)
  5. One question that is my personal favorite will be selected (my subjective opinion)

To Dan and Ned:

  1. I understand that the success of this is contingent on you taking the time to answer the questions. I am hoping that if we get enough involvement and good questions, it will be fun for you to respond.
  2. Please do not answer any of the questions yet. (The top 20 will be selected and asked in a follow-up post.)
  3. If you happen to read this, and would be willing to give some indication that you are open to responding to the questions in the follow up post - that would greatly increase the participation!
  4. You are allowed to participate in the question voting process if you want :)

Misc Notes:

  1. Thanks to @thecryptofiend for sparking this idea with your Witness Questionnaire post.
  2. All selected questions will be asked to both Dan and Ned, unless the question is specifically addressed to one of them.
  3. The winners will be tallied after the closing of the first payout from this post.
  4. Sorry if anyone thinks this is cheating, but I thought up a few questions before I created the post :)
  5. I will exclude my questions from any of the subjective selection criteria.

Bonus!

  1. I will award $5 SBD to the winner whose question I pick as my personal favorite.

With so many new and exceptional authors joining Steemit, do you think special badges and achievement awards can be created and offered? E.g. "10,000 Followers", "Top Blog 2016", etc.

What is the best way to make suggestions? Such as the one I posted about recently? We really need profiles or bios. It would help clear up a lot of false accusations of ID & content theft as well as allow users to share information about themselves.

Are you currently working on a privacy filter and if you are, when is the predicted timeline for that?

Why did you create a reputation system that hides low rep users within the thread but not within the reply feed?

Going forward, how do you plan on retaining your most active users?

Where do you envision Steemit 3 years from now?

Have you approached companies to get them to accept Steem as a payment option?

Is there a front end change to the muting system or blocking or anything like that due on the 20th of this month if the hard-fork goes through?

Is a blocking button/feature considered on the roadmap?

Where do you envision Steemit 6 months from now?

What are 5 changes that you would like made to Steemit?

How would you pitch the concept of Steemit to a major internet celebrity in a couple of sentences? I'm assuming they are not clued up on cryptocurrencies.

What new projects, have designed to Steemit in 2017, to encourage their users and attract new users?

To @dantheman....What do you do for fun, in your spare time, when you're not busy planning world domination? :)

I selected your question as my favorite. $5 SBD has been transferred to your account! :)

Very cool! Thanks so much, @timcliff. I'm glad you liked my slightly odd, not-Steemit-related-at-all question. :) I hope Dan answers it!

Please explain why any investor would want to invest in steemit ?
With the majority of newly created steem going to the whales by way of steam power interest or by way of curation . Also only the whales having the power to upvote any post so that it can make any money . Also a 6 to 1 ratio of steem being transfered from steemit to be sold on bittrex and poloniex .

Steemit has grown so significantly within the last several months. Did you envision it getting to where it is today so quickly?

Can you please rephrase this into a question?

Why is the pre-mine too high, when will the whales disseminate it, and when will the reputational algorithm become more fair to ALL?

Sorry that was 3 questions!

If you could post these as 3 separate questions as a reply to the main post, that would be good. Otherwise it would be difficult for them to be voted on and evaluated by the selection criteria.

Is there, or will there be, a terminology doc(ument) for the values shown on steemd.com's left margin?

Will there be a form or simple way to enter issues/suggestions for the Beta that is separate from the blog platform area?

What is the definition/what determines posts that list under hot, trending and active?

Will you invest your substantial amount of STEEM and STEEM POWER into hiring bloggers to create content in the system to both dilute your stake and add more content into the ecosystem?

@stephmckenzie has been selected as the winner for the best question! $5 SBD has been transferred to her account.

I will be putting together the post with the final list of questions to ask to Dan and Ned within the next few days

Thanks, @timcliff! That's so cool. I'm glad you liked my question, and I hope Dan answers it. (I'm a "her," by the way...I noticed you said "his" in your post....it's Stephanie, not Stephen....:) ).

Oops, updated to 'her' :)

Haha! Thanks. :)
