I recently up-voted a 'funny video' post, and saw it jump up by more than $1,000 within the first hour of posting. I was happy to know that I will be getting a curator bonus, but I was also curious to find out more about how this happened. I did some research, and came across two useful tools for tracking Steemit whales up-votes on posts. I plan to use this to strategize my voting going forward, and wanted to share it with the community as well, since there are probably a lot of users who like myself did not know about these features/tools.
(1) If you click on the "# votes" dropdown, it will show you who has voted on the post. The users are listed in order of their Steem Power with the highest user on the top.
(2) You can visit the site http://www.steemwhales.com and find out exactly how much SP each user has. The users are ordered by rank, or you can search for a specific username to see how much SP they have.
Based on this, you can find out who all has voted on a post so far, and how they relate in Steem Power to the big whales that may not have voted yet.
Also, the funny video post that I voted on is here if you are interested. It is a nature video about a bumblebee. I won't say why it is funny here, because it would ruin the 'surprise humor' of the video.
