Steemit is for the long term. With enough curation awards, voting power will increase for promoted posts as well which means an increasing in following and rewards is likely!

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
