EARTH STARTED OFF DECENTRALIZED JUST LIKE STEEMIT

in steemit •  7 years ago

Steemit started as a experiment to see what it would be like if a media platform was decentralized. Earth started the same way. Don't believe me?

Think about it

Before money, before cars, before houses, before the rail road and planes and boats government and blah blah blah

There was just humans. It was decentralized. Then as time went on, the more powerful of the group started to make the rules. Think of earth like it was steemit. "Early Investors" of EARTH "original families" would already be more powerful then those that came later like me and you. Its like life could be one big EARTH BETA. Yeah let that sink in. I don't take a position on if life is a simulation or not but just imagine if it was. If it was Earth Beta. The creators wanted to see what life would be like in a decentralized manner and so we are here now and end up turning it into centralized only later, thousands of years later now trying to turn it BACK decentralized with bitcoin and steemit and etc what ever else happens in the next years to come.

I sometimes think about how possible it is to get communities less dependent on usd. It seems like a big problem in poorer communities that there's mental slavery to the dollar. Most people don't even realize that money is a tool and they have options. Trust is a really big factor and knowledge is a big factor; and that's why I think people don't barter more or use alternative currencies more.

Just imagine if poorer communities in the usa could be 50% off the system- what a change that would make. I wish I could pay for my hair, nails, and dry cleaning with crypto directly between a provider that accepts it. Cards and things are good (better than nothing) but still involve usd. If I shop at the supermarket with my crypto visa, they're still getting usd.

Hm, I should make this a post -- lol

Yeah that's a good blog idea!

thank you so much

thanks

So does this imply that the universe also started as decentralized and it was those megacorps and giant governance systems that caused the stars and the planets to coalesce?

No. I'm implying that us as humans have come from a state of decentralized at some point or another and is now centralized and is in the process of going back to decentralized but with modern intelligence. Nothing more, nothing less.

Well I like it and found it thought provoking as an idea that might even extrapolate out further so thanks ☺️

I wonder if anarchy will rule, that is that the people who wield the most power will make the rules and take control, or whether the system will be designed to harbour and support decentralised, distributed and local channels?
Resteemed!
The question you propose here is absolutely one of the most important for a platform that works on distributed mechanisms and yet potentially allows the tooth and claw riches to create centralised means of control.
So far, it seems, only communal efforts support new comers and the small players however even these look like ways of gaining central power hubs in a monetised power base?
The power of the block chain is to wrestle away control from central servers and yet to translate this into distributed mechanisms of exchange... this still looks like a real challenge.
An excellent post!
