It turns out that I (and potentially one OR BOTH of my cats) am an idiot. I left my Steem password on sticky notes on my laptop and it appears that one of the cats has sat on my laptop and deleted it.
Since there is no way of recovering passwords and I only saved it in one place (again, idiot), I can't see any other option but to start again with a new account.
I've tried account recovery today but because nobody has taken over my account, this option doesn't work.
It's not a huge loss but is enough to piss me off. Any suggestions?

It was super helpful but for some reason, even though my Steemit is logged in on my laptop, it is not coming up as a saved password. So infuriating, and I can't set a new account up without another phone number!
