Why Steemit is Less than Marginal and will Crash..Maybe.

in steemit •  9 years ago  (edited)

1. Generic and boring look.

2. No homepage for users.

3. Early adopters have more Steem Power. Thus, they control popularity of posts, which means there is not a level playing-field. (Huge Negative).

4. Just another blogging platform..? (How long ago were you bored of Empower Network?)

5. Not able to delete stupid comments on your post.

7. Should the success of your posts be judged by the Steemit Elitist's? Should their world-views and lack of discernment and discretion of your view determine the success of your post? Absolutely not. Social Engineering.

7. Say what it is - "Steemit is an Incentivized Social Media for a Few"

8. Steemit is a novelty.

Someone else will come along and do it better . .

You know, you may have some valid points but we are ultimately dealing with a platform still in beta and inbound for countless updates. I think it's an interesting platform with a delightfully refreshing take on how boards like these can be run. I will stick around for that reason - if anything to see firsthand what can happen.

I wouldn't be so fast to draw conclusions either - I am very much getting the impression that the community Steemit current attracts are genuinely interested and highly motivated to help promote and make the platform grow.

Then they have ALOT of revamping to do.

They might have a lot of revamping to do - but they can only accomplish that if the community actively engages in the site's development and posts honest feedback and provide constructive criticism. I reckon your post here highlights some elements which the developers should take to heart, for instance.

Is Steemit basic? Sure. Could it be so much more? Of course. But it is still in development and there is time for it to adapt and expand. It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Watch how this post will not get Upvotes by the "Steemit Inner Cirlce". If they were honest and intelligent, they would celebrate this post, bringing honest feedback to the malcontents.
Knowing the mortal ego...that is unlikely.

I ever think like that but well..just give it a shot. There is no loss from this.

Thanks for the feedback...

I think the content will get better. Content is king. Right now 99% of posts are steem, steemit, crypto centered.

It's getting boring fast . .BUT little communities will start to grow and content will be more specific, more "produced". There are some macroeconomic concerns. Many to be honest. I'm doing what I can to earn steem power but to lock up fresh money at this moment in time? I'd rather buy at 0.01 than buy right now at 0.006

Ah, communities, like Facebook Groups? Let's see if they implement that. Here is another post to back-up my points - https://steemit.com/inequality/@business/the-disappearing-middle-class-of-steemit-and-how-to-fix-it

SteemIt is a very interesting project and an experiment I'm glad to be a part of but I do think that the price will crash at some point eventually. It always does when there is a bubble and people are just a bit too euphoric about becoming rich off doing something that has little barrier to entry (ie anyone can do this). The market wants to take your money ;) I'd say enjoy it while it lasts for however long that is.

Only one thing can avoid this, the massive adoption for new users, steem is still small and it have very big growth potential, if daily it is joined for 1k or 2k people price can be around the 400k for a long time, or not
