After my first post on Earnings, i got lots of comments mostly from newbies. So i decided to talk on something much deeper

You may be thinking right now "What does he probably know since he is still new to the Steemit community"

You are not far from the truth and you are not right either.
I spent my first week strolling round the community, I made mistakes, got flagged , lost earnings, made almost nothing. It was all fun but i guess you don't want to start your journey this way.

CURATION REWARDS
When you joined steemit, you probably must have heard about earning from upvoting post. That is Curation and you are the curator. This reward is paid in Steem. Useful in increasing your Steem power.

You may want to check steemitstats.com to see your estimated curation REWARDS.

The Mathematics
Since the aim of this post is to bring the concept at a glance, I will skip all Calculations(I will explain on demand)

Key basis
Autors earn 75 % for their post the remaining 25% is paid to curators in form of Steem

So why haven't you gotten any yet, after trying so hard to vote on every post.

• Your steem power value is low

A power of 3 is given to every new user (but you have the choice to power up by first converting your SBD to steam power) and it reduces with say every 7 votes you make (estimate). But don't worry about this it is renewed automatically after a while to the default. So those with high voting power get the larger part of the cake.

• You probably missed the timing

Every Upvote made immediately a post is updated give 100% to the Author that is yield no curation Reward, but this is nearly impossible as it takes a few time for post to get views

This value decreases with time and at 15 minute after the post is made, both the curators and Author earns 50-50 of the curation benefit.. But when the upvote is made 30mins after the post is made, the Curators makes the 100% of the profit.

*The current value of Steem.

This is self explanatory if the value of Steem is low then lesser Steem will be released as curators value to check mate the system and vice versa.

*The total number of Upvote by stemians.

Your ability to spot a good post and be among the first set to give your upvote matters and another major deciding factor is the number of Steemians who voted.

The concept is wider but what is too long has no fun.
