What if steemit becomes like other social platform like twittter, facebook yet still rewards its users

After two years of not posting on the platform due to some offline activities, it feels good to be finally back, but just last night this disturbing thought came up, "how come people still spend time on some platforms like Twitter and Facebook amidst tight schedule yet still stay off Steemit even though it is more rewarding.

Could it be because of the level of awareness, because a lot of people don't seem to see the opportunities in the platform, the possibilities of earning while doing what they love.

Could it be that the system needs some form of chat Api incorporated into the platform to help build social relationship amongst community members, or promote more worthy content, more debatable trending news , to boost its popularity. Even if it is coming from a newbie?.

Could it be the difficulty encountered during registration as complained by some new members?

This reflects the fact that the feeling of satisfaction is not all about monetary rewards , steem, steemdollars but seeing people genuinely contributing , up voting , criticizing post for what they are without fear of loosing their earning to a downvote. As a community we need to ponder on these questions to ensure continuity of the system we love
