As most of you've have seen, todays front page has 2 over $10k posts.

Both posts are summed up as "Give me money so I can go and promote steemit."

both of these people are quite well known and have bigger reach than most of us.

That means when he or she writes about steemit on their social networking sites, they are going to grasp way more people than most of us ever would. Each tweet or post about steemit by these people would have far bigger reach than most of us ever will.

Most of us work way harder to promote steemit.

Like I said one tweet shot out by these people is worth way more to steemit than my promotion via word of mouth. But people are not getting payed here to promote steemit. They get payed by the ammount of value they add to the user reading the post. If you add little to no value, you're going to get little to no upvotes. As you add more and more value you're post is going to get more and more visible.

the work we do isn't measurable.

It's only measurable on an individual basis by the people who measure it. I find that @royaltiffany is working way harder to promote steemit than @brendazambrano , but since brenda has over 1.5mil followers across 3 platforms, she gets over $15k , since her followers are worth more.(just adding, that @royaltiffany has a better trailer than Brenda Zimbabwe).

TL;DR: if you want to get upvotes, buy yourself 1.5mil followers for a little over $1k and enjoy $14k profits.
