Kamalpokhari, literally the pond of lotus, is one of the famous ponds in Bhaktapur, Nepal. It is located beside the Kamalbinayak Temple of Lord Ganesh. The Kamalbinayak temple is among one of the four major Binayak (Lord Ganesh) of the Kathmandu valley. It is a peaceful place to enjoy the company of friends and enjoy the evenings.
It is so beautiful to watch the sunset reflected on the pond surface. All the photos posted here are taken by Redmi Note 2.
Those visiting Bhaktapur should not miss the evening time with friends at this pond. If you are one of the follower or Lord Ganesh, then you are right within the premises of Kamalbinayak and you can offer your prayers and worship him during the time.
The pond is decorated like a bride in Hindu custom during Chhath, one of the major festivals of southern Nepal (Terai/Madhesh) that fall in late October. It is the festival of love and life, during which either one or more members of the family fasts and worships the Sun for bestowing the bounties of life on earth and welfare of their family members.
