If the price goes down then your value will go down. @joshbreslauer is correct, the price evaluation is based on a 7 day average. So you can gain steem, but that won't mean you are gaining USD at the same time.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

    Thanks for posting this I am just getting started and was wondering why my value went down too.
