That is a really great point I hadn't thought about. Reddit incentives more sharing and steemit incentives text base stories. Though I believe if you wanted to you could create a new platform that viewed shares differently you could. Unfortunately this might be because steemit doesn't provide image or video hosting so it makes new user's steer away from uploading content and instead creates a wave of text and stories and experiences. Yes it would be pretty easy to make a sharing platform like Reddit with I something like steemit, but do we really want that? I at least think that steemit is much more valuable because the content is more valuable (in a lot of ways), and I believe it is just a matter of time and maturity before most quality content will be made here, pushing even more of the traditional medias out and under.
We will see if course, but I am hopeful ^^
