Steemit Voting Bots Are Down! What will change?

Psssst. It might not be a secret now but did you know that Steemit voting bots are currently not active? and all the voting is currently manual, the reason is that API is down , for non-technical folks. Bots are sick right now :)

Bots will be up and running soon again but this gave me a thought what would happen if we will have a bot less Steemit , what could or would change ? will it be good or bad ? Let us see what changes it might bring:

1- It will change the face of the trending page

Have you ever noticed how monotonous Steemits trending page looks like? Same old same old few Steemian can always be seen over there, leaving hardly any space for a minnow with even greater content then them.

No bot upvoting means those who used to be on the top will only stay there if they have created an awesome content or have so much social influence that people will vote for them even if they have to do that manually.

2- It will promote more socializing of Steemians

In a world filled with bots people forget or are too lazy to socialize but without bot upvoting people will really read the contents of each other, they might comment or just drop in to say hello too. Being bot free will makes Steemit more human and by being more human it will have more love to share.

3- Steemians will learn the right meaning of curation

Curation is not upvoting anything you see or blindly upvoting a author thinking her or his content has to be good, sometime even the best authors write low quality content, people will read the content and will upvote and curate it only if they really like it.

This no-bot situation of Steemit is not going to last forever and they will be up and running soon, But I myself is not able to think even a single downfall if this situation goes permanent. What do you think? Would you love a bot free Steemit ? Do you want Steemit to be more human? Comment below!!

lol...how did randy fare?...Did he survive the killer viral outbreak?

randy ?? Rando ?? ......

You are right but i tried lots of thing to get a chance... no body looks one of my post... every big whales upvote or resteem similar accounts only. so we have no chance other than voting bots. because we lost already since we don't enough power.. all the tags redirected to trending as default. to being in trending section we need bots and some prays:)

@serhanni ... Dear ... Ask and you shall recieve ... ping me your best content
:)

I am voting manually for everything but I haven't been around that long so I am still trying to spend as much time as I can around and find other people like me. It is very easy to miss an article for someone you follow though, and if you believe in their capability to write good posts I find it quite alright to set an outoupvote bot for them. There are people from all over the world and timezones very easily mess this up. I follow people from everywhere and miss quite a bit and go to their walls to check. But still bots aren't all bad.

yeah dear ... you have a gud poit with that flow of post on the new tab ... it really messes this up
by the way do you think time to post matters ?

I still do all my voting manually. I wasn't expecting the character of Steemit to change quite so much from having the API down, though. It's been an interesting thing to watch.

Thanks for your post and explanation.

@lexiconical .... you know it surely doesn't change ..bots ill get up ....
your are the best person if you do that manually ...
Being manual to your votes or content surely help the community a lot
Thank you for the intellectual conversation

Let's upvote this post, see if we can get it to rise to the trending page ;-)

whats up dear ?

What kind of bots? Sorry for asking stupid questions. J

No questions are stupid .... Those who wont answer them are stupid :)
Steemit has a voting bot system ... they try to automate a thing or too
Not smartly alaways ... bots to upvote .. like rando or booster :)

Ah I see. Thanks for answering.
Yes, its probabaly a good thing to automate things a bit on a such a system.

Remove claim button?

I didn't understand remove claim button ..why ?

That has 0 effect on me...

:) ha ha ;) how bout i upvote you and ping you up on the rep ??

That's good for me... I'm not a bot, just a mannequin :-)

Big hug

Nice, that's great, I hope they never come back. The only good bot is Cheetah.

@ Lord cheetah :) and @steemcleaners too :)

I think Donal Fegan summed it up

Interesting for sure.. hmmm..

Thanks for the info and thoughts on this topic. I agree, hand picking and curating can lead to better selection of articles that are featured. :)

@karensuestudios ...... yeah manual upvotes always is the best curation
Thanks

The voting bots are what is causing the really good stuff to get drowned out. I'd be happy if they were completely abolished. As it is, I am sooooo bored with having to wade through all the rubbish.

That said, Steemit is a 'group think' community, where, even without the bots, people will just upvote their good buddies, regardless of quality. I doubt some of them even read any posts not from their group. They upvote as one, and down-vote as a bloc because 'if other people are downvoting, then I should do so to'. This is what will kill Steemit in the future. Mavericks are the ones who create original things, and mavericks don't hang out and socialize in groups. They are busy coming up with ideas, and thinking, when others are socializing.

So, in summation, I think the bots being down will stop the burying of some good stuff, but it won't get it trending.

I have to add: if someone's posts are usually on top, and suddenly without the bots, they are waaaaay at the bottom - well, that says something about the quality of those posts.

Yeah upvoting the stuff that is read should be done more ....
Every one should practice that ....
@ajdohmen ... Yeah even down voting should be self decisioned

do we really need this for our blogs.? The only useful one is cheetah as w e really can find out if someone copied what from where... I just read a blog posted a few minutes ago and the whole content was simply copied...only added the author´s few photos.

"a bot less Steemit" great stop the bots!

yeah .... manual one will do more good :)

Once again outstanding @utfull , very good insight, with another manual upvote.

Hello @utfull
I think you are very right in the points you comment ... however there is very clear inside the platform and is that not all applications have the same projection depending on the level of profits that can get ... for example two publications Of great quality and with the simple difference in the language used can have a great difference in level and profits (even having a similar amount of votes) the article in English may have produced 100 $ while that one written in Spanish can be near 10 $ ... is a big difference, very unfair ...
Steemit is still improving many things ... the bots can give a lot of benefits but it is true they make us forget what a community is!

@simnrodrguez... yeah i saw that ....
linguistic based content some time get more upvotes ..
But it doesn't matter .. spanish right ?
chinese content goes way more up then even english ones
dont they :)

:)
