You have to realize that Puckerberg, Bezos, Gates , ETC........and all the rest of the so called leaders of the tech wave we are witnessing is a set up. It is the WOLRD WIDE WEB and a web is to catch prey.
It is completely funded by the deep state and controlled by them as well. The people we see in front are just puppets.

I try to keep this in mind, and try to avoid certain stuff that might make me a more profitable target. One thing I do is think of it as the Darpanet, because that reminds me of whence it came.
When you think about how these technologies can be used to bless humanity, you quickly realize that there are reasons it's in the form it's in, and that the primary growth driver of the early internet was pr0n.
Successive generations of children have grown up with access to the vilest pornography that's ever been made, and we can see many results of the impact that has had on them. Fortunately we can't see all the the impacts.
What is seen cannot be unseen.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, Zuckerberg is in a position to mold the digital world into something which can be devastating to digital world and by association, the real world too!
Facebook and the like are twisting society into a very bastardized version of reality, then this "new" reality is being pitched as better than the old reality.
I fear for the future of not only the Steemit community, but all the communities that haven't been "Zuckerborged" yet...

It's difficult to even imagine AR apps and games being used to control kids in elementary school failing to create a generation of willing slaves.
Tom DeLonge's new act as a communicator for the TTSA is crafting a global threat that can replace the failed global warming scheme. Half of Hollywood is making aliens.
KIds will buy it, and we'll be sold down the river.
Decentralized cryptocurrency and truther blogs can only do so much.
We'll need help to survive this.

The Simon black article is truly disturbing and STEEM Inc. may need a wakeup call and get HF 20 rolled out sooner than later.
Not sure how we avert this inevitable outcome.

We'll need more than a few million bloggers. With a 90% YOY churn, Steemit first needs to fix the rewards mechanism so it's not a cryptomining game for 38 whales, and then the real potency of voluntarist government can begin to counter the totalitarian threat.
We need to get Steem around exchanges, too. Banks aren't going to be allies, either. Fakebook has enough users to prompt adoption of it's currency globally. The best we can hope for is to ride that wave, and hang on, hoping reason will prevail and decentralization prove necessary to folks.
If you have a look at my other replies on this post, you'll see I figure there's a lot more than Steemit at stake.
We need allies.

Facebook may take over as a blogging platform for crypto, but I see Amazon as a potentially bigger player, once Bezos recognizes the potential power of minting your own coins.
Amazon already has already extended its tentacles into many commercial arenas such as transportation, delivery and retail. Imagine if every purchase on the Amazon blockchain generated crypto and every time you bought from them you got Amazon bucks, money you could use to buy more stuff from them, or convert or invest? Seems like a no-brainer to me. (that's because my empty head has lot of room for speculative thoughts).

Actually, I think he's gonna do this. I don't shop online, but I hear they take crypto now, at least BTC.

He already uses member-type strategies to get people to use Amazon, like coughing up $100 up front to join Prime and get free shipping, firestick TV, free e-books etc.
Amazon Bucks can't be too far behind, especially given the accounting perpetuity aspects of blockchain technology. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he also owned the entire "distributed" network of computers. I'm no techie or know if this is even possible, but I'm sure control freaks everywhere drool over this possibility.

Companies like Facebook, control and influence everything and that includes steemit future, because ZuckerBorg is a business men and loves to make money, so I see him developing something in the near future that starts to put steemit on check.

That looks to be the case. As @everittdmickey points out, however, SMTs are a wild card. We better beat ZuckerBorg to the punch with 'em.

The thing that worries me the most about zuckerberg is that he could just purchase 10s of millions of Steempower and make a website that interefaces with steem and build it into facebook. Then give all the people out there access to steemit by giving the steem away only to those loyal to his cause. They would invade and take over, and it would only cost him less than 100 million to do so.
What would we do then?

My information about how things are working on Fakebook isn't supportive of your supposition.
Consider instead, in view of the censorship, propaganda, and other social control mechanisms being employed on Fakebook, the impact of millions of flags.
After all, you're here, and not posting this on Fakebook for reasons.
Good reasons, IMHO.

I scanned your link pretty quick.
I don't think the author of which understands 'decentralized'.
FaceBook isn't and wouldn't seem to be a good fit for a blockchain.
imagine them lying, and being shown to BE a liar for all the world to see...
nope...don't think so.
furthermore...Google IS an advertising company at the core....always has been
everything else it does is pursuant to the main objective...
and no..Giggle and Funnybook to not dominate the internet...
that guy needs to get out more..
not even counting the DarkNet (several thousand percent larger than what giggle has access to)
the Onion can go places giggle can't ?
there are STILL blogs, websites...and oh yeah...Steemit/Busy/ChainBB/Zappl/Dtube/'others' on the SteemBlockChain that Giggle doesn't control.
Now let's talk about Ethereum...which has a market cap 80 times greater than Steemit and which is the infrastructure for much of the remaining currency market.. ($397 Billion right now..fluctuates wildly)
pant_pant
NOW! Shall we talk about SMT's?

The darknet is mostly databases, and such. Backend stuff.
I expect you're aware that money isn't my top priority, so much so that I've never spent a satoshi of Steem. It's peoples ideas I value, as the truth is better than gold.
Giggle was funded by the CIA. It's primarily a data harvesting operation, while growing a substantial sideline in propaganda and censorship. The ad business is mostly a way for gummint to launder the funding.
Why should a blockchain only be useful if decentralized? There are numerous proprietary and private blockchain applications. The blockchain makes data persistent, and data is what Fakebook is all about, too, just like Giggle. I doubt Twatter is much different, if far less profitable.
With a FakeCoin, ZuckerBorg needn't worry much about Steemit. With two billion users, he can establish global adoption of the currency Fakebook users receive. He can make it a game for one whale to profit from, rather than 38, too.
ETH and BTC aren't competitive with Steem as currencies, except in price, as they were earlier and have folks committed stakes already. Cryptokitties broke ETH. BTC was just crashed by the banksters, just weeks after they started the futures market for it.
You'd think with equities tanking, BTC would have mooned. Same with metals. They didn't because derivatives potentiate control of the underlying asset.
Now that they have control of BTC, they're starting to accept it as payment for taxes. That's pretty much the definition of what makes something actually money: that you can pay taxes with it.
He'd be an idiot not to use hashgraph, which would be highly resilient, the fastest xfer option, and is the next best thing in cryptocurrency mechanisms.
Even if I made a million Steem, I wouldn't want to see what kind of world would come from FakeCoin, especially in the hands of his Chinese patrons.
Too bad I can't do a damn thing about it but bitch.

Isn't the 'darknet' just the internet with a layer of privacy protection.
I don't see anything dark there.
And facebook on cypto doesn't really make sense, they make money on peoples privacy.
SuckerBorg had the chance to do the right thing for many years, he chose not to. He wasted his chance on any trust. If had done the right thing in the first place , then would steemit exist?
But greed has long arms... Lets see what happens

The deep web is just that part of the network that isn't assigned IP addresses, sorta. That's about the only layer of privacy protection to it. Most of it is literally databases, and the like.
I reckon that's what we were talking about, as the darknet, those anarchic sites that deliberately avoid the 'surface web' and tend to lawlessness, is literally tiny. The deep web is huge, and the darknet is a itsy bitsy part of it.

No reason to be concerned... FB will never go blockchain and decentralization, because this would mean to give their power away to the people. Yes, there may be some kind of token in the near future, but this will have nothing to do with what cryptocurrency stands for. They may even try to come backdoor, like the banks did with Bitcoin and their "invention" of the Lightning Network, but once people have lost their trust into large corporations and media companies like FB, no token in the whole world will save their ass...

I admire your adherence to principle, but I fear you underestimate the ability of a currency thrust into the wallets of 2 billion people, as well as their aversion to centralization. We few here on Steemit know the value of decentralization. Most of us are highly skeptical, at best, of centralized organizations, governments, and other legal persons with less compassion than psychopaths.
Corporations aren't human. They can't be humane.
China loves Fakebook. ZuckerBorg helped them to develop means of censoring their people. Consider the value of the data acquistion Fakebook can continue to supply them in their program to institute total social control.
Consider also their demonstrable efforts to shed the petrodollar, going so far as to create the petroyuan. Venezuela has recently announced the PETRO. Russia created the cryptoruble. All of these currencies are intended to replace dollars, and eliminate American control of internation markets.
Fakebook has more users than all those nations together have citizens.
Russia is facing a three-pronged assault on it's borders. Ukraine, Korea, and Afghanistan aren't random places for the deep state to unleash violence and vicious criminality. They've got little to lose, as the corner they're being backed into is their heartland.
When you say 'once people have lost their trust' in corporations, I must agree. But, they never will lose that trust. The litany of ill considered opinions being drafted into law, impressed on our children through public 'school' indoctrination, and drummed into our brains through Mockingbird Media will make the Chinese social control mechanism totally effective.
Fakebook, Gargle, and Twaddle joined with disaffected nations against US/EU hegemony will control half the world, and most of the manufacturing. The financial dominance of the West will be immaterial with the implementation of hostile cryptocurrencies, and economic pressure on legacy financial systems already primed for collapse will destroy what little capacity remnant for producing war materiel.
Steemit is warped into a rewards mining game for 38 whales. What can Steemit do to stop China and Fakebook from taking over the world?

These are very important points you are making. The one thing that makes me positive though is, that looking at the young generation (my daughter is 15), they don´t use Facebook anymore (not even WhatsApp - maybe Insta a little). Yes, maybe this is only the case with the next generation in Europe or US - I can´t tell what young people in China, Russia and all the Asian countries are doing. You might say, that if they don´t use FB, then just another centralized option, but we have the chance to get them right there. If developers on the STEEM blockchain can provide Apps similar to Snapchat and targeted to the next generation, I see huge potential in that.
Yes, at the moment it seems to be a David vs. Goliath situation, and the only option we have is to stick to our principles and continue to support Team David as good as we can and try to get the young adults and next gen on our boat. Time is on our side - old structures are crumbling and yes, there will be a huge war over power incoming, but I am here to wave our flag on the battlefield and everyone here should do the same. We have the chance to make it - maybe I´m naive, but I take the risk! Thank you for your in-depth comment! #teamdavid 😉

The Borg is an interesting concept, pretty awesome for a tv show to develop. While I didn't realize it before I understood voluntarism, which happened but lately, the shows are relentlessly statist.
The propaganda is deep on Deep Space Nine. Probably less so there than on the other Star Trek versions.
The Borg are the ultimate statists. There is no dissent.
Once the new generation of infants is raised on their VR Iphones, that will be humanity - void of functional free will, mere cyborgs in the deep state machine.

voluntarism, is another thing that's expolited in todays world.
As in rich people who create 'volunteers' to get work done without having to pay for it.
So whenever someone is a volunteer he has to ask himself, am i really helping or am i just being exploited by someone behind the scenes.

Dunno if I'm preaching to the choir here, but by voluntarism I mean not coercing. If folks wanna join my army, they can. If they don't I am not allowed to make them.
