When you give an upvote, it reduces your voting power. A vote given at 100% of the proprtion takes about 2.4 hours to recover the voting power. Hence if you change vote percentage from 100 to 50, the time required to recover would be 1.2 hours and you can vote twice in the gap of 2.4 hours. This helps the voters to preserve the voting power. Lesser the percentage of voting power lesser is the time required to recover your voting power. The % voting however is not effectively used by many while selfvoting. Those who refrain from self voting makes most of their voting powers. Your curation rewards are directly proportinate to the value of your vote. If the value of your vote @100% value is say $6. Then if you adjust vote percentage at 10%, the vote value becomes $0.60. Curation rewards would be calculated on the basis of $0.6 and not $6
