Why There Most Likely Already Are Celebrities on Steemit, You Just Don't Know ItsteemCreated with Sketch.

I saw someone's post recently saying that we need a celebrity on Steemit to have a huge following, making it mainstream. I don't really care but I will give my opinion. I've got news for you all: there are celebrities on here, but they are remaining anonymous. I know I might be going out on a limb, but I definitely believe that a few celebrities are on here. Let me explain.

1. The number of people with more than $100k estimated in their account is surprising, to say the least. How many whales are on steemit? Well, I made a post asking people "What constitutes a whale?" Is it $100k or more? $500k? What? Yes, there are most likely doctors, lawyers, and other people that have very high income careers, that's obviously a fact. But I believe there are celebrities out there on here.

2. Anonymity. Why would they want to remain anonymous? It could be that they are unsure of Steemit's future. Maybe it's that the mainstream doesn't want people to get into this, and these celebrities' handlers have warned them about going on here and blowing it up. Who knows? I'm just saying there is a very high chance that there already are celebrities on here.

3. A counter argument might be "Wouldn't they make much more money if they just came out as themselves?" Yes. But again, revert back to #2. I'm approaching conspiracy-theory territory with this one, but again, it's mainly speculation.

4. Another counter argument might be that they are so rich already that they don't give a shit about Steemit. Probably the most likely truth as to why there aren't any/many outspoken celebs on here.

What do you guys think? I don't really care either way, just thought I would play devil's advocate with the guy whose post I read. (don't even remember who it was now).

There are people that are well known all over the place online, mostly I think because in between jobs they have a LOT of spare time. They are in many online games too. I think on the most basic level they just want to connect with people because ultimately they live a very sheltered and lonely life. Online they can do so with anonymity and engage with communities online when and wherever they want to and they choose where they go, where in real life their popularity means they are constantly harassed and their privacy invaded constantly and their public engagements are arranged for them.

So true!

Total agree!!!! Had a whale hit one of my post before, check there wallet and guess what, 1.6 million, and with a low rep. So I totally agree, and I am good with it. The more people the platform has the better.

In fact some of them may have just visted your post. Keep stacking my friend

You might be right! An affirmation!
