Why Cryptocurrency keeps getting hot

It was just few years ago when the first cryptocurrency came out. But even years before then, the craze of everything getting smart and digital had just been born.
Now we have smart cities and millions of digital platforms for just about anything.

Where am I going with this?

Well, to the best of my knowledge, I doubt this trend is dying out anytime soon.

I remember 2004 when Facebook came out and it seemed like the next big thing. Now it has actually become a big thing. Very few people are not on Facebook. You have no idea how amazed I was to find out that Facebook is almost the size of China ( that was 2012) I am sure by now Facebook can qualify to be called the largest nation in the world :)

At least, my friends already call themselves the Citizens of Zukerville.

Talking about my friends, I remember a discussion I had with one of my inventor friends, Philip. I remember he said if it can be done in a cartoon, then it can be done in real life. Well, he said this in reference to the SIM Card and the Iron Man suit. Don't worry, he doesn't have a suit yet, at least not the type that flies or shoots lasers.

Before I go off totally with my ranting, lemme rush back to what I was talking about.

Cryptocurrency.

Everyone wants to have a smart city or live in one. Cryptocurrencies or digital currency is a major facilitator of such.

So, in my opinion, digital currency is the lifewire of smart cities. And since Governments are investing heavily in smart cities, my guess is they would start investing in Cryptocurrencies (its very possible some already have).

That's the amazing thing about Steemit, a social platform that runs on Cryptocurrency. I think, I may be wrong, I don't think I am. Steemit may very well be the Facebook of the Future....
