I feel the best analogy to steemit will be Quora instead of Facebook. Because facebook is more of relationship oriented whereas steemit lacks the relationship side.
But steem is a good community for users to interact and get useful information. One downside would be the redundant and not so useful content due to the content & curation reward system.
Hoping all the flooding of post concedes and we start to see lot of quality posts. This inturn will add more value to Steemit. It would be even better if some celebrities start using Steemit. This will be of a good advertising for Steemit....
