Why I'm Investing My Own Money in Steem

Right now, all of us here have stumbled upon an amazing opportunity. Social Media is not going away any time soon. But what makes this platform so amazing is the fact that we can get paid if our content is good! No other platform does that.

I strongly believe that Steemit is here to stay for several reasons. First, everybody loves social media, and we have found a way to get paid doing it. And Second, the community is active and wants to see it succeed. There's also different contests to help your content get noticed in several different categories. And what I really like about this whole platform is that it's easy to become a part of it.

I'm very excited because today was the first time I've ever invested in a cryptocurrency, and I chose Steem to be my first because I believe in it. I will admit I'm no where close to being a whale, but I plan on investing what I can every month to my account because this platform definitely has potential, and I want to be a part of it.

Of course I've read a few articles and watched a few videos explaining why you shouldn't invest in Steem. They justified their argument by talking about the high inflation rate of Steem. I do think it's worth mentioning that every day more Bitcoins are being mined as well, but the price has skyrocketed. Nobody that invested in Bitcoin is regretting that decision. With any cryptocurrency, there is going to be risk. But with creators that are as passionate about this as they are, and it being a fantastic community to be a part of, I'm extremely excited and optimistic about the future of Steem.

That's a great decision. You got the perfect mentality for steemit. Hope to see you go far and wide in this community. Keep up the good work, here is my token of appreciation.
Remember me when you become a whale ;)

Thanks for the support :) And I'm really excited for the future. Good luck to you as well!!

np, stack up on steem before july, that's when we will probably have a good price increase :)

Hi Runicar, what's happening in July?

APPICS is launching , and besides of that check STEEM price chart, it always has a massive pump somewhere near July.

I agree 100%. I am investing most of my crypto profits from bitcoin into Steem.

That's awesome! Glad you believe in it as well :)

I am new to Steemit but i hope that this platform will go somewhere! I think i will also have to introduce it to people around me to this platform. Its here to stay and if its used wisely, i think it has the potential to create a more substantive content compared to Facebook and other social media platforms. It also filters out to the right sections and once we bring in more headz into the game, more niche sections, we will have a strong website filled with valuable information. Wish you all the best :)

Absolutely! I'm trying to encourage my friends and family to join as well because of its potential. Welcome to Steemit and best wishes :)

I really really want STEEM to be successful, it is the perfect platform for me. The one thing I don't quite understand is where the money comes from. If you earnt $20 for this post... who pays that $20, where does that come from? I think once I understand the ecosystem of the platform I'll feel a lot more comfortable.

Me too! I believe it will be. Here's an article that could help with your question:
https://steemit.com/steem/@steemrollin/steem-where-does-the-money-come-from

Thanks so much for linking this.... The article wasn't so useful, but the comments I think cleared it up.

So I think this quote helps:

"With Steem, the software network distributes new Steem just like the Bitcoin distributes new currency to miners. Part of the allocation of new Steem is used to create Steem dollars."

So, miners mine Steem... and 70% goes to the miners and 30% goes to reward content-creators based on their upvotes? Does that sound right?

You're welcome and sorry the article didn't help more

I have a theory that If I stop paying my student loans and invest that $400 per month in cryptocurrency (whether its steem, bitcoin, litecoin, etc.) then I will have well over the amount of interest I will accrue in the , let's say, 4 years that I stop paying my loans.
