Though riches may elude me,
And I have little gold,
My spirit remains free,
And my heart, it does hold
A wealth of love and kindness,
That no amount can buy,
And though I may be penniless,
I hold my head up high.
For in this world of plenty,
It’s easy to forget,
That true wealth lies within us,
And not in what we get.
So though my pockets may be empty,
My soul is full of grace,
And in the end, it’s love that counts,
And that’s something money can’t replace.
